Most people here would agree that while affiliate marketing is a great way to make money, freelance writing also nets you some nice cash without a whole lot of work. So what, if any, freelance writing jobs do you work? How much do you make per article? How much time do you put in per article? Any drawbacks to your current system?

I've currently got a job as a freelancer writer at CheatCC.com, which is a website that reviews video games. I make fifty dollars per article, which is pretty nice. But reviews take a long time -- I've got to play the game for an hour or so, write a review (another half-hour) and then research a variety of information about the game (release date, developer, publisher, etc.) plus get some marketing stuff for my article (flash blurbs, teasers, and the like). And the major downside is that I've not got unlimited work; there are a set number of releases every month and I seldom make more than $300 a month. Still, it's not bad to have.

So, what about you?

I've been a freelance writer for a little over a year now, but I haven't been able to get any good, stable projects. I use GetAFreelancer.com and Scriptlance.com to get small projects that pay $2-$5 per article. It's really not much, but I am getting into affiliate marketing and using bum marketing (free advertising methods), so hopefully the articles I write will bring me more money than those I write for others.

I am thinking that if you are a great writer - you should be able to make more money in the long run by doing affiliate marketing. I have finally found some pretty decent information on how to get somewhere with affiliate marketing myself and am enjoying it.

Yeah, I am working on affiliate marketing now more than the freelance writing. I feel like I'm probably helping the competition by writing articles for them! However, it's taking a while to get things set up to where I make a substantial income, so for now, I am having to do both.
