I'm very new at trying my hand at affiliate marketing and I signed up for the Wealthy Affiliate program which is $30.00 a month. So far I still don't know how to set up a site (I'm thinking of a blog to start with). Would I be better off learning somewhere else like the Affiliate ATM or Blogger Classroom they are starting up? There is so much out there, and I don't have the funds or the time to research everything. If anyone has gone this route before, I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

Homebody,

You came to the right place. I am not part of Wealthy Affiliate but I have heard nothing but good about the program so I am sure there is someone that can help you. I hear they have an awesome forum where you can ask questions and read posts.

Here are a couple of the forums about wealthy affiliate for you to read.

Wealthy Affiliate?
Anybody got any info about Wealthy Affiliate.....

Hope this helps,

Becky

Hi I am a happy WA member ..
I would absolutely go through the Wealthy Affiliate 8 week action plan and yes, the WA forum is a goldmine.
Site Rubix is fairly easy to use.
When I was a beginner, I went with Weebly.com because it is super simple to build a free website and attached blog right there..and you can use a sub-domain of Weebly, or pay for your own domain right there on the site.

No hosting, no FTP ...it does not get easier that this.
If you need any help, I am happy to answer any questions for you.

I am not familiar with the Wealthy Affiliate program but it sounds like you are involved with a good organization.

My experience has been that a reputable company is there to help you be successful. I think the best place to start is with their training and marketing materials. They will probably have the support, information and tools to help you get off on the right foot and to answer your questions.

It is very overwhelming at the beginning but with effort, time and experience you should make progress.

Good luck,
John

Hey Homebody ~ as NTC said, go through the 8 Week Action Plan at Wealthy Affiliate and use Site Rubix to crank out a website.

You have virtually everything you need at Wealthy Affiliate to be a successful internet marketer, but in order to be successful, you need to use the reasources that are available to you - and there are enough reseources available to keep you pretty busy! Just don't let your WA membership go to waste!

I personally feel WA is overwhelming to someone new to IM. It is not cheap either. Memberships like WA are to be used when you know the basics of IM. WA is good for PPC and to learn PPC well it takes some time. But before PPC you have to learn copywriting, articles, email marketing etc

I think it might seem a little overwhelming for some people, but the 8 Week Action Plan allows you to learn at your own pace...and it covers things like copywriting, articles, email marketing, etc. - basically everything you mentioned including Adwords and a whole lot more!

Hi Homeboy. How about reseller websites? These are strongly recommended for beginners. See it for yourself.

Well,
I'm with annex. I liked WA but it's geared for PPC and beginners are going to get killed there unless they are very savvy. Why not try the Warrior Forum, it's free. Also like someone else said, go Weebly and go for free.

I agree wholeheartedly. I learned everything from that group, especially the PIPs forum!

Take care,

Laura

You will learn alot by just trying diferent things and learning what makes sales and what doesnt. There is less then a handful of affiliates who never failed at one point or another.

The Wealthy Affiliate is a good program. You wont need it forever but I would take advantage of everything it can teach you.

Thanks everyone for all your advice! I have looked at the Warrior forum and I believe it will help me tremendously by just reading what others share about their experiences. As for WA, I believe I will stay with them for now to learn all I can. I don't know anything about PPC right now, so I am looking for less complicated things to learn first. I think I will try to write articles and blog first. If anyone has any tips for me in this area I would appreciate the insight..........Thanks again!
