I agree with many of the comments here. Yes, article marketing is time-consuming, but I'm looking at it as doing work now to reap benefits later. For instance, it took 15 days for my first article to get accepted by ezinearticles.com. In that 15 days, I submitted 8 more articles, so I know that work I did last week hasn't hit the market yet. The whole backlinks, organic traffic strategy is to build traffic and backlinks over time, so I expect to invest a lot of time now so I can cut back later.
At least that's the plan!

Haven't outsourced yet but will soon. Do at least 50% article marketing and am learning to enjoy it more and more.
PPC will eventually happen but not until I have extra money to burn.
Learn the basics and then move on.

Newbie Shield: still takes time and experimentation to profit from PPC. Good point,
Most of my PPC campaigns (if not all of them) start out as unprofitable.
Some more than others.
However, tweaking the PPC campaigns and revising them is what makes them profitable.
But if you do venture into PPC. Expect to lose out at first!. Don't be upset if you don't start seeing profit immediately.
Daily spending limits are good to set so you can monitor your keywords and see who performs so you can revise your campaign and get profitable fast =].
Good luck,
Matt

hello, Article writing takes up about 30% of time and I find writing articles in a question and answer format makes writing articles faster and easier. along with writing articles I write blogs and continue to look for more helpful ways to market my website.

I tried doing article submission before using article post robot and I find it good. But then, I stop working on it. I just focused submitting my article with the top 10 article directory.

Globas,
Most people recommend Ezine Articles as the best site because Google loves them. The problem I am having as a first time article writer is the amount of time it is taking Ezine Articles to review them. I have two articles in review and none actually published.

article marketing is very effective but very time consuming try to write 1 original article a day so you don't burn yourself out. Other effective strategies are forum posts, classifieds, if you have a website make sure you optimize it for the search engines. Commenting on blogs, video marketing, social networking... It goes on and on there is a lot of effective methods but article marketing is definitely one of my favorites. It's like a giant jigsaw puzzle like stated above that you have to put together and make money with.

Yeah a lot of this online marketing is very time consuming. I've since learned that offline marketing can get you better results with direct interaction with your prospects with minimal competition and distractions.
So don't get locked into just online marketing. The time consumption is why most of your most successful online marketing gurus outsource their articles.

I think the reason people have small conversions at whatever method they use is because there are just too many people trying to make easy money online period.
Even if you produce the perfect optimized article and get first page at Google, someone will be along soon to take your place.
It's dog eat dog unless you have something really unique which is hard to find. I read that the people who are looking for the lazy easy rich lifestyle seem to work the hardest to get it...

As old as it is, article marketing is the first marketing method that is available on the internet. Even at this very moment, it is still the best free method of advertising on the web.
Saying that, it is my main source of traffic and income.
