Hi guys this is question we often ask ourselves and I would like to know your views as most of the people in this industry start as part time. So when should one shift to full time.

depends what you mean by full time. 8 hours a day? 14 hours a day? 
Until there is more than zeros in your account - full time is not even the word to use for those of us that have worked HARD at this. I can just imagine the possibilities for a single person (especially if there was unemployment in the picture!) that had HOURS to put into internet marketing... there is such a huge potential.
I have teens so I have natural distractions all the time and I still make money.

It depends...I always tell people to keep their job until their income is replaced for 3-6 consecutive months and then to fire their boss.
As I said, it depends...on how bad the person wants to get absolute freedom.

I think when u earning is more then ur salary. then its time for fulltime.

Hi Yadvinder,
I would say that the answer is, "You should go full-time when you can afford to go full time."
Funnily enough, once you are working at your marketing full time, you then beginning planning how to do well enough that you are positioned to only work part time.

A person should shift to full time anytime they feel that what they earn in their business is what they are earning in their job.
So if you job brings in $2000US per month and you are making somewhere in that area in your business and really feel that you can't endure going to work anymore, then go for it.
If you have bills and mortgage to pay and can barely get by then keep your job as extra income and give it 6 to 12 more months.

You need to shift to full time when you feel comfortable that you can switch. You should probably think about moving on to full time when you are consistently bringing in a profit you need for 3-6 months.

It has been a year now and I am glad they did. My position was eliminated like many have these days. I do not want to give up my hobby farm so here I am.
I am also having a wonderful time seeing family and friends get over chronic diseases with my product that sells itself.

This is such a good but also such a "personal circumstance" question. This year the opportunity came my way to start all over again (I've been in the direct selling industry for three decades - mostly on salary as a manager) - this time I am with a MLM company, new to our very small country.
I have decided to go "full time" and live on a shoestring in the months it will take me to build the business. Most of the frontline people I have recruited so far, have to stay in their jobs for the moment to make ends meet - so we have this situation where I work about 70 hours a week and they all help where they can but we are all so driven to get ahead.
Two months into my venture, they cut my husbands' work-time a second time - so we lost income again BUT this is just the motivation I need to keep going - we need to become financially free and not dependent on recession whims and work shortages.
Sometimes I regret it took me so long to step out of the salary zone - on the other hand I have invaluable experience of direct selling / recruiting that I can use in the next few crucial months.
Most of the frontliners would love to go full time right now - but bread must be put on the table so we will have to ride it out and plan and strategise to see who can step out next.
This is my first post and I look forward to learning and sharing.

I'd say check with your upline when you think it's time. They have insight you may not yet possess.

My thoughts on this are to go full time once your RESIDUAL income exceeds the income from your job. The reason I stress residual is that there will be good months and bad months, and in those bad months you won't earn as much in up front (recruiting) bonuses. The residual is the part you can count on long term. Also, make sure you have a healthy amount - not just barely enough to cover your living expenses.

Good point, Ben. I always advise to counsel with upline on such decisions, but if you've banked several months income and your consistent passive income is greater than your j.o.b income, sounds like freedom to me!

I think a person should commit to marketing when they have everything paid off and are free of debt. Once this happens then who cares. By this time you are def. making enough money to make it online. So why bother with other work?

To some, this may sound a bit out of reach.
I have always gone by the rule that you should be making 3 times the income of your job in your MLM business before you decide to go full time.
The great part about that is that it sets a really high goal for yourself, so if you stay laser-focused, then you will reach that goal much faster.

When you want to get 100% of the output from the 100% energy you will be putting in that is when you switch.
There are some that make good money from networking home business but still won't quit a job for whatever reason.
Fact is you will only get out what you put in, and you will get more out when you have more time and energy to put into the home biz to get more out.
So make the switch when you are ready to get maximum results.

I'm trying to do it the slow (cowards?) way. After 18 months working my business in conjunction with a part time job of 20 hours a week, in the New Year I'm going to reduce my p/t job by 5 hours and devote that 5 hours to my other business. I'll be interested to see what effect it has on my income
