There are a few very good internet businesses where you can be very successful without ever needing to approach your personal contacts. What I look for is a business with a great deal of automation and a system that drives prospects to your website, allows them to do their own due diligence and has professionals speaking to your prospects on your behalf.

Interesting,
Here is how I see it. If you are looking for a business you do not have to refer to your friends and family, then you are looking at this industry all wrong. There are many businesses I am proud to introduce to my closest friends, and if not, then why would I want to introduce them to only strangers.
Sounds to me you have been burned, and along with you being burned, you burned those same friends you now want to avoid promoting to. If you cannot be proud of the company you represent, and you cannot believe in product as a user, then move on, you are with the wrong company.
Good luck to all, Mike [Link removed - Admin]

Yes there are a couple of real money making opportunities on the web. I have found that profit lance and affiliate project x seem to work. I was the same way when I first got started. Now they all want to know what I do.

Holly Mann's ebook Profit Lance system Rich Jerk ebook if you are more experienced.
Here is what doesn't work: Data entry scams filling out survey sites.

To Make Money with network marketing on the internet You have three options:
1) Talk to a lot of people 2) Write and distribute a lot of information people want. 3) Pay for advertising and hope you get paying signups before you run out of money.
Prospecting: Speaking with a lot of people is hands-down the way the top networkers make a lot of money. No whining. If you want to make good money in network marketing, the phone is your best friend.
SEO, press releases, article marketing, etc... all hinge on writing. Thats a lot of what I personally practice these days, and it gets people CALLING ME, but I still talk to people and I still think that prospecting is the most highly paid activity you can do.
Paying for advertising a la Google Adwords, ezine ads etc... should be part of your overall marketing plan, but these methods require testing and investment of capital to get them converting profitably.
What it comes down to: if it isn't working for you, your aren't doing what works. Here's what works:
-personal development :conquer fear of the phone, practice discipline to write marketing content daily. (I sell a personal development course... and its a very good Bizop too, contact me if you want to know more).
-skill development : daily regimine of working on learning more about marketing THEORY, putting it into practice.
-Offline lead generation. If you can't get enough traffic online, put out flyers and sizzle cards, etc... the ideas are endless.
It all comes down to What YOU are willing to do to succeed.
If your whole definition of success is clouded with:
"I won't do that" "I don't want to speak with people" etc...
you have just created a situation where success is very unlikely.

Hi David
I couldn's agree with you more. I've visisted your site and viewed your videos and based on my personal experiences, you're right on with your observations.
With the increasing noise on the interent, building the BEST websites is not the best option for the beginner. You must build lots of sites and see which ones do well and expand from there.

Great discussion on this forum. I agree with Web Auto that most people do not work it hard! (But I wanted more than $100 - $300 per month)
I beleive the key to success is in finding a good mentor and then in your ability to follow their system.
The mentor is key. There are a ton of good opportunities out there, but it is very difficult to find success without having someone show you the ropes.
Your ability and desire to follow their path is paramount. Too many people think that they can just come onto the internet, work 20 minutes and then make $1000000. That is just not going to happen.
However, if you do work at it and have a good mentor - the rewards are unparallelled. I am 25 and will never have to work a real job again in my life!
That is because I did my due dilligence. I studied opportunities on the internet for a year and a half without joining one. I waited until I found the perfect opportunities. Then after that, I called around and got the best mentor possible. With his guidance and my abilites to learn, adapt, and innovate I am now free!
I wish that everyone else can find the same success as I did!

Quoting: salopps Anyone recommend anything they've had personal success with without having to recruit people.
Hi Salopps,
To my knowledge, there are a couple of things you can do to make a substantial income online besides affiliate marketing. I don't like the survey stuff, get paid to shop deals, etc.. That's too easy! (if it's too easy, you won't make a buck - take that from me!)
I like affiliate marketing, but I totally agree that affiliate marketing is not for everyone. I really would like to recommend you something here, on this forum. But I am sure some people would see that as SPAM.

Sure there are a few diamonds in the rough~ That really work.....
Trusting someone and what they are offering, and putting your faith in someone that they are genuine, and trustworthy. I was fortunate enough to come across Mike Andrews, and his Course.

Hi, I think that by combining MLM and an Internet based business is your best bet. I had no luck with MLM before I joined Agel because I hated to contact my family and friends about my business and cold contacting was out of the question until I learned from my upline that I already cold contact everyday. I guess what i'm saying is that if you combine a good MLM company (I am in Agel) with a good website, contact me if you want to know about mine, then you have a good chance of success. I hope that this helps

I have recently put a remarkable system to work for me.
With this system I won't have to call prospects again. But They do get a call - from a professional "closer".
Now I know you folks have seen this sort of thing before, but this is different. Previous systems like this would only close sales for 1 program.
With this new system, PDB, I simply forward my leads to my Personal Sales Assistant who calls the leads and answers their questions...
Big Deal.
Ok. Here's where it gets good.
When a lead gets a call and hears "Hi Jim, I'm Joe, I work for Loren Woirhaye, calling his business prospects and answering their questions.... how would you like to have a professional like me calling all your leads and closing your sales, no matter what business you are in?" --- well, they hear that and practically PEE Their Pants.
This is cool when you see the potential of many people in your organization using a professional phone salesperson to make the calls and close the sales. This is the stuff exploding downlines are made of....
I will be using PDB to call my leads for my Liberty League business. Anybody reading this could use PDB to call leads for any program.
Not because I can't call them myself ( I am very good on the phone), but because it demonstrates very powerfully that I can teach ANYONE how to succeed with the business, even if they Totally Suck on the phone.
At some point I would recommend anybody who wants to make top dollar get proficient at prospecting leads and closing sales... but for people who want to promote Libetry (or any program really, it will wokr for any network marketing business that is legit) but are afraid of the phone this is an incredibly powerful option.
Its really about Delegation now, not duplication. I have my lead generation delgated to automated systems. I have my phone calls delegated to a professional salesperson.
Want to really live the lifestyle?
Think about what delegation could do for you.

I was a bit leary of this one at first but after a week and a half I can say it works very well. Sign-up is free and you get to test drive the system for 6 days. You get to decide if network marketing, mlm or whatever is good for you. A lot of people this all they have to do is sign up for something then the "money fairy" will send them CASH! HAH, only if that were true. As with anything you can try all you want but the key is "doing".
Wishing you all success, Marty

Hi Guys,
Bucky, you hit the nail on the head. Alot of business who have some limited business experience or knowledge come online and think that it's some sort of vault. You just plug into it and you'll make money. Don't get me wrong, there are a tonne of ways you can make really great money from the net. However, you do need a mentor. Someone who will align their knowledge and experience to your personal situation and goals. Somewhat a advisor.
The main reason why so many fail is that they give up too quickly. I'll try this and if it works great, if not I'll give up. That attitude is the reason why you are still where you are.
You can literally make things happen in your life. All you need is some dicipline and enough determination to make it happen.
To do this, and to make sure you don't give up, what you need is a mentor. Chat to them about what your goals are? What you situation is? Then, let them work out the details.
To respond to the reason for this thread. I think alot of people think that MLM is the only real way of running a business online. That's not so. There are great business opportunities that are available. Some require start up costs from a couple of hundred to a thousand. But, these are real businesses. You won't have to recruit your family and friends. Why would you want too. I always say you should keep your business life separate from your personal life. They just don't mix.
Take Care.

Sports Arbitrage Trading works, and involves not a single recruitment. It does, however, require money and time. But of all of the work at home opportunities I have looked at, at least arbitrage puts you in complete control of everything.
It really is 'working' 'at home'....

Gracia,
Regarding the $5.oo business.
its a simple resale rights program where participants can resell the book. The book contains useful information that can save people a lot of money, so I feel its a good value.
There are other products in the program to promote. You get them all with the first ebook. More importantly, you get a pretty cool back office system to sell the stuff with... its really on the strength of the back office that I am promoting this... and because its good information at a price that makes it a good value.
Its pretty easy to promote and sell something that is only $5.oo. You won't make Big Dollars on it but it puts names on your list and a little cash in your pocket. Not such a bad deal.

There are several companies that offer opportunities to people in the Uk best bet would be to get on google and look for one. When you find the one that sounds good, google it and research it as best as you possibly can
