Brand yourself and make a unique lead capture page. That is what helped me more then anything. I received a generic website and then changed up somethings to make it more personal to me . Nothing slick but just personal. Those generic company websites can really make it hard for you to succeed. No one told me that before or showed me.

If you want to know if Emerald Passport is a scam, the answer is No!
If you want to know if it is a good business model that anyone, good with a good work ethic, could enjoy great success with, the answer is ABSOLUTELY YES!
However, like any real business, it does take effort to build, but the payoff is well worth it! It is not a get rich quick scheme, you will be building a real business that you can take pride in ownership. If you enjoy the idea of helping people, learning to grow personally and professionally and making a lot of money while doing it, then check out this business model completely, it might be for you!
As a Christian businessman, I went searching for a real business when I was told that my college administrator position was being eliminated due to budget cuts here in Texas. I went on-line searching for the right opportunity; boy did I get a quick education in cons, scams and rip-offs. But then I found a company who has been in business since 1990 and that impressed me.

Yes, I know when I first started building my business online that using the generic company websites seemed to be the way to go but later on I realized that is the worst thing you can do but I didn't know any better and thought the company who was the one having me help them make money as well as myself would have figured that all out for us.
Of course now I know that the company or program knows nothing about marketing and it's up to us to do that part many times without any real help from the company.

I agree you can make money with ANY opportunity as long as you put the hours in. Don't forget, no matter how savy you are at internet marketing, it ultimately comes down to people-skills. Most people will buy from people they like, trust....and really, most sales happen on the telephone. Personally, this opportunity wouldn't be for me as the product doesn't gel with me, but that's me. Have fun in your research.

Emerald Passport has closed it's doors due to the "economic downturn" as stated on the company web site. The real reason is lack of marketing leadership. No one at the top taught how to develop the marketing funnel for today's online business. The company management chased the leaders away in late 2006-2007 and continued to lose market share till present.
Another one bites the dust!

I recently joined Emerald Passport.
THEY HAVE JUST ANNOUNCED THEY'VE CLOSED....NO MORE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY.
No warning it was in trouble, no emails to distributors, no contact at all. Just posted an announcement on their web page.
Thanks a lot Emerald Passport. I'm $1,295 out of pocket & no business to run, & you didn't have the balls to tell me.
Do I sound angry??

You'll note they are citing the Glovbal Economic Downturn.
What nonsense...due to the Economic Downturn more people are turning to home based business than ever before, and more particularly Internet Based Home Business. This year 2009 we have seen a huge surge in home based business growth...and the internet and Marketing Systems have had the biggest impact.
I've said it before and Ill say it again Sorry ...but you'd have to be nuts to join an MLM / NetworkMarketing company with a "No-Online-Marketing" Policy.
I find there is no end of people coming online asking questions like "Help Im a Newbie" "How do I get Started". I'm seeing this more and more on forums, this one included, all over the place.
So with that said there is definitely a RECESSION hitting MLM/Network Marketing companies with a "No-Online-Marketing" Policy. Emerald Passport looks like one in a soon to be long line of companies going under, unless of course they implement a "No-No-Online-Marketing" Policy.
One thing is for sure though
There is NO RECESSION on the INTERNET

Emerald Passport wasn't a victim of the economy. Emerald Passport was deemed an illegal pyramid scheme and shut down. I found two articles from Australia explaining that.

you're never too old to learn ,, thanks to emerald passport, I am now becomng much wiser in the ways of the world .
Although , I am approximately $20,000.00 out of pocket ,it has been a valuable lesson , and reminded me of my Grandfather's words....... "Be trusted ,, but trust no-one ".
Now completely broke mm and almost 60 years of age , I look forward to the rest of my life with a smile on my face .
I think I have a clearer picture now ,,,,,,,

I've just read your EPI comments about a business that has now shut the doors. Don't worry - I was in Emerald Passport too from 2007 to 2009 when they closed.
At $1295 for phase one it was a business that not many people could afford to get into. Hence its shut down due to their words of "tough economic times"
I cracked up laughing when I saw this business. Its got the exact same payplan as EPI and anyone can afford it! ANYONE - I mean its only $10 to get started! So if you've still got EPI contacts then I know they'll scoop this one up.
I only started yesterday and within 6 hours I had 5 people fill out my form and I only promoted it via Twitter - tweeted 3 times.
The best part about it is that I can tell you that I WILL PAY YOUR WAY IN - Hmmmm got you thinking now! You wouldnt have said that with EPI - Lol
Theres 5 levels - which pay out 100% comission ON THE DAY up to a huge $997 - 100% comission. I know its not $1,000 like EPI was offering but its pretty darn close.
Same kind of referral plan as EPI as well. I came in at level 2. It costs me only $10 per month in admin fees which include my adtracker, websites blah blah you know how it goes.
Theres NO ringing up people, NO following up prospects, NO conference calls to attend, NO trying to convince people that this is the way to go - I mean who needs convincing when YOU are gonna offer to pay there way in! (you only do this once by the way but it feels great being able to tell that to every single person) he he he There's a special button in the back office you see
The products are downloadable info but the CEO Ron Walsh says dont worry about the product as its the payplan that pays you. I guess they just had to attach a product in order to make it a 'business' - whatever.
Anyway, enough talk. Remember, I'll pay your way in - too easy!
