Using only articles to build backlinks, what is your view?

Some of the first articles I wrote had a lot of views but not many clicked on the link so I had to learn how to write in such a way as to please ezinearticles and still get the click.

What tips would you give others trying to boost their numbers of clickthroughs? Ezine does have a lot of rules which I'm always careful about not breaking. But, at the end of the day, it really is all about clicks.

I agree with Sam. One should use a mix of the various methods and tactics of building backlinks and not to depend only on one. While Articles and blog writing are very popular, they are best for the longterm and require patience and consistency.
