Any benefit to article submissions directories?

I've been using a submitter and very happy.

I wanted to see if there is any benefit to mass submitting one article to a ton of article sites. If it's the same article it won't help you overall in rankings as google will just slap it but still.... does it give exposure overall in the long run even if it is contained within each article site?

If the chances go up to get picked up and published?

I don't want a automatic spinner as those are all junk. But is there any benefit to mass send 1 article over many channels?

Now This is my kind of question. Mass aut_omations with bots. heh heh [IMG]

Anyway, a while ago, all the bum m_arketing ebooks were talking about how you will make sales when you submit the same articles to lotsa article sites. Even with the threat of google slap.
Now they still talk about that, but now the articles have to be a bit unique.
    Is what im learning.

But some of my buddies who like to experiment with google and dont really care what google thinks. Are starting to wonder if duplicate content slap is still in effect. google changes their algorithm constantly, so you can never master it.
So Im like, dudes, whatever you guys find out, i want in [IMG]

duplicate content is still helping them rank, but in a genius way.
Me personally i like to blast my articles to at least 50 directories.
In fact i just did it again last week. [IMG]

At the very least, if it wont help me rank through normal methods,
then at least i will get 50 new backlinks. If the item is hot, i should make some sales.

So, specifically, will it increase exposure? Yes it will increase exposure. If you have 50 different ways for people to reach you, you will be reached.

The only advantage of submitting the same article to hundreds of directories is that it gives you lots of backlinks - but the problem is that Google will either never index all of them, or they will de-index most of them after they get indexed.

    Hi LawrenceTam,

"worth it" depends upon who you ask.

Will you get more back links? Yes.

Will Google index duplicate content? Either no or not for very long.

Will you get more traffic? Perhaps.

It might be best to submit different versions to the better directories plus a few of the best directories within your niche.

The lesser directories won't do much for you in terms of either traffic or backlink power.

More isn't always better and in this case I would describe blasting as a waste of time.

Your time would be better spent on creating the next page or on networking.

Experimentation never lies. Try doing it a different way and compare your results. See what works and what doesn't.

You're right "Spinners" never work. Our language is far too complex.

Could be. But i suppose i would realize this sooner if i was
slowly growing insane, by doing this manually. [IMG]

Still not getting any clear idea about mass submission. What will be the exact google effect on mass submission? If it won't index duplicate contents, how can we get hundreds of backlinks. There is a view that google won't count the back links (anchor text) which have the same words (for example same signature placed in articles) around them. Is it true?

The more places you have your article, the more people will read it. It is as simple as that.

Those articles all blasted at same time will initially get lots of views quickly, depending on how hot the product is. And how much traffic that particular article directory is getting.

if all those articles are pointing to your money page, that money page will get a quick boost with backlinks and exposure. since those articles will get de-indexed and drop down soon, the boosting effect to your site will taper off and start to decline.

As a result, your money site will drop in ranking unless you continously push with more methods to maintain your ranking on search__engine. But dont over do it. Too many backlinks too fast with fresh new site, and the G will get suspicious for sure... "Yay!! sandbox time [IMG]"

The article does not need to be indexed in order to get a backlink from it. why wont it count the backlinks? unless its no-follow or something. Also, the truth is that you never see all your total backlinks using normal methods.
you probably have more than you think, but its still nice to see them though. [IMG]

    I didn't see the point.

I had one that was expensive and did a good job spinning my articles by changing around varied sentences and titles. And it went out. Got a backlink or two.

But Articles serve as long-term traffic anyhow. If you want it to go shorter, you're either going to have to bookmark the heck out of it, or try other options.

If you want much quicker traffic, you'll have to go to traffic exchanges, safelist submitters or pay per click. Out of the three, Pay per click is far more effective.

Either way, mass submission or a few good established article directories, is not going to lead to a boat load of traffic and buyers. That's just not how it works.

Every article is not going to attract the same interest so your traffic will always vary, but many articles will help to bring you steady traffic over time.

I think mass article submission is over rated. 5-10 good ones will do the trick. When do mine, I mainly work to mix up the title, don't have time to try and redo my already unique content a bunch more times.

I say stick with the top guns Ezine articles, Go articles etc. Or mass distribute on launch day of a product. They time and effort is not really worth it in the end. that's just my opinion.

I haven't really tried it. Actually I tried it once through Article submitter website and it equaled epic failure

Submitting the same article to article sites can give lots of backlinks to your main page. The main page where they are pointing can have high ranks in the search engine results.

You'll get better results if you change up the article to make it at least 30% unique. Change up the title and then submit it. This way you get the backlinks and you get to keep the index as well. Either way, building up backlinks to your original article will help drive it up to the top of the search engines bringing you plenty of traffic if you target your keyword properly.

I once used an article submitted - submitted my article to several article directories. Right away, my number of backlinks was way up, but it didn't take long for many of those backlinks to disappear...
