I've been reading these posts for months now. My husband and I are days away from making the plunge into our first online business. As we do this, I can't help but plan for down the road. For those of you who managed to get more than one business off and running successfully, what businesses seem to work well together?

Actually you need to get one up and going first before adding another in my opinion![IMG]

As you learn the ropes in one, it will help you know what to add to that... I have several things going but would not have been able to do them all at once.

    Wishing you much success!

    Hi mellin,
One thing you can do is open an eBay store, and than market similar products to your customers.

I agree with Mountainmom5. It's probably best to learn the ropes while just focusing on one business. You don't want to spread yourself to thin especially while still learning how to run a business effectively. Best of luck.

I understand that I need to learn the ropes of one business before I jump into another. I think I said in my original post that I was only looking down the road. It seems logical to me that if I'm working on one business where the major focus is on network marketing, it just makes sense that if another business is worked through network marketing as well, why not work both? I get the feeling that people are successful doing this, which is why my original question remains, what businesses seem to work well together?

It's always a good idea to have more than one business going. If one source of income dries up or shuts down you will not be out on a limb.

But I do agree that you need to start one at a time. When you have a good system set up on how to grow the first business then you can get involved with another one and repeat the steps.

I didn't do this in the beginning and so I failed at everything. So I stepped back, took a look at what was working and what wasn't and let go of the ones that weren't and I essentially started over. It was the best decision I made. I almost gave up but I am glad I didn't because now I am very happy with the way my businesses are going.

I started my first online store in the 1990's. I have since started two more, each time leveraging what I have learned. All three have done very well. Once you develop some expertise then you can easily apply it to your new businesses.

l READ some where that if you have a site that is making $300 built 3 more ,and more. as long as you have got time you can do that. l would also say start with one and half way get another. what l do is l have contents site that is less than ayear old. l have been adding contents to them weekly. also have program that require just 15min of my time everyday and helps with some of the bills. the site content takes lots of my time but l have hope in them .

Hello & welcome. As you look into building your own business, I would go with one first. There are many very successful businesses out there that you can make a huge income a month to where you don't need to do more than one. I, personally only have one. This is all I need. I wish you luck on finding the right business for you. You can PM me anytime for some suggestions.

    Hello Mellin,

I have to agree with Michelle on the fact that you should start with one first. Having multiple businesses of which you are not familiar with, can get bloody confusing at times, but if you must have multiple businesses, then you need to have an idea of what form of business you want to go with for example niche websites, MLM, informational proucts etc..

I have multiple businesses and it was not easy at the beginning and it is only getting better now....I have made mistakes along the way..I had to keep notes/diary entry to remember some of the things I had started. And if I had to do it differently, I would have taken baby steps and making sure I understood what I was doing.....

    Happy searching

Focusing one program at a time is the way of doing it. Think of them as trees.

Planting one tree at a time is definitely much more easier than splitting your attention on a few.

    Business takes time to grow.

Sometimes thats the biggest problem in succeeding. Do one thing at a time. When you can put one on autopilot, than move on to the next one.

Become an expert at that one thing first, then if you must, move onto another. Success comes in so many forms!

I also love multiple streams of income with network marketing. For me personally, I chose 3 that worked for me. Something I was interested in , that I use, that is automated online. As long as you are self motivated and can multitask, more than one shouldn't be a problem. Hasn't been for me. Good luck!

You are welcome to take a look at what I do.

Theses busineses suply the income for my wife & 5 kids. I have been doing these for 14 months & am very happy with the results.

One thing you do want to look for is SUPPORT.
It will make a grat deal of difference when you get going on how to do any business.

If it was not for the team support, I don't think I would have done anything close to what I have done.

It is possible to have multiple businesses as long as you have replicatable system that you can use. You need one proven system that you can use for all your business and focus on it.
