I recently started with Internet Marketing and writing articles to try to drive traffic to my website and landing pages. I'm still a bit of a newbie at writing the articles, but I'm getting better. My biggest concern is that my author profiles are really weak. Any advice on how to improve them? I'm really lost on what I my profiles should consist of.

Where are you submitting your articles? What are you doing with your profiles currently? Kinda hard to say how to improve them without knowing what you are currently doing.

If driving traffic to your site or squeeze page, have a strong call to action along with up to two direct links to your site or page. Ezine articles has a good resource on creating a strong resource box.

BTW - Welcome to the IM arena...[IMG]

I've submitted to Ezine, Articlesbase and Goarticles as well as setting up a couple of lenses at Squidoo.
This is the profile I use at Articlesbase with a link to one of my Squidoo lenses anchored to the quoted words:
I am the proud owner of three dogs. I've spend a lot of time researching ways to train them to be the best behaved dogs on the planet. I've posted tips, tricks and advice on my blog. I've also researched "how to choose the best online dog training course." Remember, a well trained dog is a happy dog!

    Thank you! [IMG]

Link "Your Blog Name" to your blog. Link "Online Dog Training Course" to your blog or squeeze page.

    Hope that helps. [IMG]

It'll depend on the article directory you submit your articles to.

Some article directories want you to have an actual "bio", but Ezine Articles doesn't really care. They only want your link in the resource section only.

Since there's no actual separation from the body of the content and the resource box in Ezine Articles, then I recommend making your resource box the last paragraph of your article.

e.g. Your article is about the 5 tips for burning Ab fat.

You list those 5 tips in the body of the article.

In your resource box, you include a paragraph with a nice closing statement and call to action. For example:

These five tips will zap the 60% ab fat that's hardest to burn off in the first three months of your work out training. But to really whittle down that last 40%, you'll want to ramp up your efforts with the other 6 tips for supercharging your abs.

Then hyperlink supercharging your abs with your link. That way the text link "supercharging your ab" can draw linkjuice from EZA to your website or blog page. This will help your optimized pages rank higher in the search engines.

If it's to an affiliate product, it won't really make a difference. The affiliate page isn't your property anyways.

Try to keep the flow going that leads the reader to take some sort of action.

    Hey,
Hope your article marketing has been giving you good results.
    I just read your post.
Yes posting on those top article directories will give you lots of exposure.

In my experience it is also important to have quality backlinks pointing to your website.

So, make sure you rewrite your content and post it to as many directories as possible.

    PS
Post only unique content on ezine articles. Don't post PLR or rewritten articles.

    Good luck!!

hey, im new here,.... i just thought i would kick it out there that alot of the time i see that people do not match the meta tags in the article with good ranking keywords on google to get a ranked higher on search engine results.

Be sure to check out google keywords and look up keywords you can put in the meta tags of an article so you can get more organic traffic. the trick is finding keywords with little competition that alot of people are searching for that relate to your article [IMG]

If you do that then your organic traffic will be a lot higher! dont forget ur meta tags! [IMG]
