A couple of weeks ago, a very smart man told me, "pretend you just invested $100 000 into your company. How would you do things differently then?"
This has been the best motivator for me...I'm not doing a hobby, I'm doing BUSINESS.

Good one gojade. That's the way I handle my online matters. There's no other way to do it. I market, build, plan, tweak, and learn every day - all day and night.

I've definitely invested less than $100,000[IMG] But I've also only been doing it two years. I believe that once you have built a large team, it's worth investing a little more to train and motivate your team...nothing motvates like bonuses[IMG]
Also, I think my link is working now....the first page that asks for info automatically enters you in a draw for a trip to Tahiti...I don't think it says that on there, but that's what it does!

A great statement to be motivated by.

I am trying to learn and earn as much as i can for my online business.

That's a good tip. For me, it would certainly help to bring a much sharper focus than I would have otherwise.

The best thing to do is study "Think and Grow Rich"
I just finished reading it for the third time, and get so much more out of it every time!
Another trick to remember is profile your customer in detail.
    Ask yourself :
    "What do they want"?
    "What do they need"?
"Find the solution and provide it for them!
(You don't have to be a great salesman of you know your customer).
I believe this is much more important to keyword research in the beginning.
    And, most importantly, have fun!

    AMEN!

I agree with NTC. You shouldn't think first of how much profit you will gain but you should think first of how to satisfy your customer's needs and wants --- and that's basically your key to have a good and booming business. Being a need and not a mere want.

This is a good point and probably why internet marketing, affiliate marketing, network marketing, home business etc. has such a high failure rate.

Treat it like your job. I go to work everyday to my job and to my business. It's the only way you will ever become profitable. I set a schedule and keep to it. That seems to work best for me.

Yes, very good advice...when you treat whatever you do as if you are building your own business with your own money, then you will start to think of area of focus which otherwise you would not tought of.

It also helps to work with something you are interested in...from the heart!

Isn't it true many people are willing to throw thousands of dollars into online and offline gambling? Many people treat gambling very seriously, almost like a full time job.

I know quite a few people in my town who gamble on a regular basis. Most of them treat it like an after hours part time job; others spend nearly every day at the casino or bingo. Still others disappear for days on end playing online gambling games.

I don't know of any who have earned a decent return on their "investment." In fact, their lives aren't any better because of their gambling.

Yet, here's the point: look at the SACRIFICE they are willing to make in the hopes they will stike it rich someday! These people are COMMITTED!

But does their "business model" make any sense? At least you're taking a calculated risk with your wiser business investment. You've got a better chance than they do. And they work HARDER AND LONGER than you do for a lesser chance at getting rich than you have.

    Think about it.[IMG]

Is the sudden infusion of a six figure investment (real or imagined) going to magically alter or improve your business acumen? Not necessarily. If your gameplan is weak and flawed to begin with, a larger investment will only result in magnifying that fact on your balance sheet.

There is an Engish proverb that says: "When your cup is full it must be carried carefully." So if you were literally walking with a cup of tea that was filled to the brim, you'd have to take care not to spill any.

When you apply that anaolgy to your business, it suggests that the more profitable the business, the more carefully its affairs must be managed.

I believe you should treat every dollar you invest in your business as if it were $100,000... by using good judgment, thoughtful planning and careful execution every step of the way. It's only when you've mastered the ability to generate a positive return on $1,000 that you can truly appreciate the opportunity to do it with $100,000.

The detemination and effort has got to be continuous, sometimes its hard to keep motivated and focused.

For me, this simple little Yoda quote keeps me going....

"Do or do not, There is no try"
