I am with Coastal and part of the CSG. I haven't yet got my director's release and was struggling with the high cost of leads. I was introduced to Funtime and a less expensive way to get leads. They offered a lead program very cheap and had a referral on the leads that helped you pay for your leads completely and even make some money. They offered unlimited leads. With the same cost for the leads, you receive the complete Funtime Business opportunity.

Has anybody looked into the Funtime Business opportunity or the Funtimel leads program and how it compares to Coastal, or the CSG leads from CEM?

Would it possible to run both businesses side by side?

You can look at the business opportunity at my personal website they gave me when I signed up for the leads last month. It is [Link removed - Admin]

Check it out and tell me if I am being scammed.

If you have not already done so, please check out this topic...

I can't for sure say Funtime is a scam because that is a pretty strong word if someone is trying to make an honest living online. I have not thoroughly researched the opportunity. However, their tactics seem pretty questionable. I don't think there is any reason on this planet to run the businesses side by side. It makes no sense to me. Please make sure you are getting involved with a reputable organization. I prefer to join a something that has been around for 13 years because there is a track record. Nothing against start ups, but I prefer a proven system.

Also, if paying for leads is not working for you, try something else. There are tons of ways to advertise, and not all cost a lot of $$.

What I would recommend, is try some other forms of advertising and marketing. The same method of advertising doesn't work the same for everyone. However, if you haven't had much success with leads, then maybe try running newspaper classified ads, if that doesn't work out, then maybe try Google Adwords, catch my drift?

You have to find some form of advertising that works for you. From what I have heard the CSG has a very comperhensive support system. Maybe spend some more time in there and get on some more training calls. I don't know, just some suggestions to consider.

Has for Funtime, I agree with decker2006. Their tactics are very questionable.

Look at you Jat, already answering questions....Way to go!!

I would take the advice....try some other avenues for advertising.....look at marketing it retail, look at free advertising online, and get onto forums and start talking to people.

I would also suggest getting on the phone with your director, practice your training with him/her, and see if they have anything to offer.

Are you being positive and energetic?
Do you feel strongly about your product and opportunity?
I would definitely suggest getting on with your director though, if you are starting to struggle, you may be protraying it in your voice, and that won't work.....use them to get your follow ups, get their help!

I am sure that there are many here that would help as well!! You just gotta ask!

I haven't looked into funtime, but I know Coastal works!! I also know about struggling with leads, I did it....then I started looking at some other a fundraising idea, and retail business to business, and then I just started training as much as possible.

Get onto the university trainings if you can. Be sure to go over your objections and practice talking with people!

But mostly, you must make a decision to NEVER QUIT, no matter what!!

I belive that this so called tell me if I am being scammed request is nothing more than a spam! Why because he came on the Coastal thread just posted once and the name of the business he is pushing is putting down Coastal. Don't fall for this guys pitch SPAM!!

The company is telling Coastal customers that Coastal is a scam and the BOD is warning Coastal members about them!

DON"T fall for the guys's SPAM

SEE Harold's post here with a warning!!

Gee Terri, do you really think it's spam?

I am pretty sure you are right!!

I didn't say anything, but it seems pretty obvious. I think Terri is right on the money.

Saying that he's a Coastal member and that he's having trouble, and then talking on and on about the FunTime bizop...

A little too fishy. Don't you think?

Yeah your right Terri, this is a spam thread. Jared joined on March 11, made one post and is never to be seen again. He puts down Coastal and has Fun Time for his signature. Sounds like Fun Time marketing tactics to me. I think that's apart of their training.

All this talk about fish is making me hungry. I never did like spam when I was little. If my mom was out of town for the weekend my dad would make me a spam sandwich and tell me it was a protein sandwich so I would eat it because I though it would make me strong. I still haven't forgiven him for that. lol

You are such a card, Harold! I'm laughing to death here!

Actually, Jared is MY team member. I know him well, he is a good guy. I don't think he was trying to spam anything, I just think his focus is all over the place and he is confused about what to do or even what he is doing currently. Its his mindset that seems to be the problem, he isn't plugged in and is not following my advice or suggestions or even the system. I've tried every which way to help him, even sent him leads and alternatives (including a long list of free advertising on and offline) and offered to be on every call he made and even manage and organize his backoffice for him (we was having internet problems). I told him to get on the csg and bod product calls and trainings.

I Spent hours with him, problem is that if you don't FOLLOW the system you will NOT get results. He didn't follow my advice and was running through 100 leads a week (not CEM or a company I recommended either) with very few follow ups. 100 a WEEK, where I recommend that 100 live leads a month is a full time effort- if you are sorting and following up properly. Really prospected in a (somewhat) focused manner for about 3 weeks, and was just about to break through despite re-inventing the wheel so to speak. I offered to listen in and help him, sent him a copy of the secret for christmas- I really don't know what more I can do. Right now, I have asked him to go back to scratch and re-do the 7 day training without skipping around and 90 day gameplan, get on the calls and work with him one on one for an hour or so daily while he does his phone work. I don't know if he is working on that or not. I HOPE so!

The funtime people have told him that the coastal package is not worth it and that we only focus on the biz op, not the product. The reason they give for being in coastal and funtime is that "they got tired of explaining to their clients why half of the package doesn't work". I swear that I'd wring their necks if I could as this man has SO much potential that is being frittered away. I know a good one when I see them. He is the nicest nice guy one could ever hope to meet and when he is focused he is bang on awesome. I'm sure that many here would tell him this isn't the case- but he doesn't think he can trust coastal people. I said that he already HAS a package, no one can sell him anything- but why not talk to retail people. I'm very sad for him, he is such a wonderful fellow with so MUCH potential when he is turned on and on track.

I hope that he gets his mindset sorted out sooner rather then later and is stronger for it. He is a monkey personality, which makes him just a brilliant person but difficult to remain in focus.

I saw the thread, and noticed the title and content were even in conflict. But to assure you all, I don't think his intent was to poach or anything. I think he is conflicted and confused and needs HELP! I don't know what else I can do for him. Any suggestions?

I think he should be publicly flogged [IMG]

He clearly likes to take things by the horn and do it himself, so has he tried retailing the product B2B? have done what you are supposed to do, it really depends on Jared himself, you can't force the man into doing something he isn't prepared to do.

Jared, if you're reading this it might be an idea for you to take a week off from the business and gather your thoughts. You must remember this isn't a get rich quick, I believe it takes at least 2-3 different marketing methods until you find your niche and when you find one or two working, run with it. By taking a week off your batteries should be charged for you to go at it again. Jani can call you in a week and you can share your ideas and whatever you decide on stick with it. As she correctly says, this takes focus.

    I hope that helps!

    Hi Roger!

Thanks for that.. I actually gave him that advice too. I told him if he wouldn't take it from me, he should get on the 'net and hear it from others. Oh dear..

So, I just got a call from a lady who will be his first (and maybe only?) training sale. She said, guess what.. he was trying to talk her into funtime, amongst other things.

In the last conversation I had with him, he asked to speak with other team members of mine who had used their package. I'm very sorry to report this, truly heartbroken- but I must admit I may be wrong in defending his actions on this board earlier.

As to referring him to other team members, I am thinking the better of it. NOT because I don't feel people have to right to make up their own minds as to which business they choose to be in, but because I don't want to be associated with anything as unethical as I increasingly beginning to believe this funtime actually is.

Oh dear, what a royal mess. I really don't know what to do or say to him now. I'm his director, I want to help him. But I don't feel he is being honest here. What ever am I to do?

    Thanks Roger!

oh yes, he is interested in B2B as well. I was also trying to encourage him to pick that up! Now he has this idea in his head that the product isn't worth the price tag, and has a personal ethical conflict. Which I do understand- one can't sell something one doesn't believe in. Which is WHY I told him, get on product calls, talk to people, use your package.... even if that means giving away the already activated vacations he already has in it to people. Far as I know, he has not done any of what I have suggested. Its almost like he WANTS to have an excuse so he doesn't need to feel within himself that he has failed. Thing is, I don't see what has happened so far with his business as a failure, I think when he was tuned in and turned on he was doing great! I've told him that we all learn from our mistakes, and that all really successful people have made pleanty of them.

I dont have a dog in the hunt personally but i know coastals prices. If you can sell the product at that price thats awesome 1k dollar plus commissions but he said that funtime is cheaper??? How is 299 a mo. for 3 months then 399 a month cheaper than a one time payment???
  15. matiasmommy

    matiasmommy New Member

Good question, PT dude. I think its a matter of perception. Their comp is that you get a commission on every person who signs up in the business, its an mlm. I agree with you, coastal is certainly much better VALUE for the dollar, and provided you follow the system much more lucrative in a much shorter time frame.

But perception is reality I guess!

Then again, maybe its the start up costs that includes leads. He reports to me however, they are single opt in and not very good quality at all. Then again, i told him that would be the case. Single vs double, and that is before I was told people opt in for what is worded as a "free" vacation. Then the rep calls them and here is a handling fee, followed by an activation fee. Not "free" in my book!

    Hey Bear,
Most people from Hawaii are passionate about spam! They LOVE it. I once asked our van driver what was in it. He didn't know but the way he talked about it, you could tell he loved it. It cracks me up. I have asked several Hawaiians about spam and they all answer with the same excitement and passion about it.

He emailed me this am after discussing things with his other team member last night. I've been moving all day so I haven't decided just quite what to do yet.

I think he made the post and moved on. He seems to be very good at jumping around here and there.

He told my team member last night that he makes $10 on every phone call he makes with ft, then emailed me this am saying their lead quality isn't very good at all and that he coudn't afford cem premium leads. hmmm...

Believe me you, I'm rather puzzled!

    It's rather unfortunate.
Now I feel guilty for calling his post fishy...well, but it got a few good laughs with Bear's contribution.
    (including moi).

By the way, Jani, hope your move went well.

I'm no psychologist, but it sounds like you're right. He sounds very much he was looking for an excuse not to try. Perhaps fear of failure? I had something like that happen to me so many times. I'd rationalize things to death and find a reason why it wasn't good enough or was a waste of my time or was legitimate or was against my principles (what the heck did I know....maybe even know).

One really good advice I heard on tackling this (hopefully this can help a few people in here in the future dealings with such folks) is to visualize yourself having achieved what you are aiming to.

Then consider the whole package as a life style. Meaning, having achieved what it is that you want, what will your life be like? Physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially, relationship-wise, etc...

And inevitably, any potential problems (which are really fears) will surface as an uneasy feeling when you imagine that particular aspect of your new life.

Keep in mind that fears are imagined realities. But since they're realities in the person's mind, it is real enough to cast enough negative emotions linking to that goal leading to self sabotage. But because it's only imagined, it's not real in the external sense. Therefore, each person has the power to shape their reality using their will, abilities, etc...

I think so many people are led to the path of the least resistance, partially due to the culture today (but that's a topic for another thread), and end up living lives that are not fulfilling. How many times have you really done something that was very easy, but brought you a great amount of happiness and/or sense of accomplishment?

Unless Jarid works out his own fears of success or failures, you won't be able to push him or motivate him. If you are somehow able, then it will most likely be very temporary before he starts to sabotage himself again.

    So what can we do?

For me, a quick prayer for their benefit and growth and a few positive intentions here and there. Does it work? Who knows. What's important is that I have good will toward them and hopefully remain open in case they decide to change.
