I am a father and main breadwinner. I have a full time job and for a while I have been surviving on that and the money I get from my military GI bill (I would buy all of my education stuff used to save money and use it on other things)

But....trouble is on the horizon. In 6 months my benefits will expire and I will lose over 1K in income.

I will go out and get another job at night if I have to (I was thinking about delivering pizzas) but I already commute quite a ways to my job and I have health issues (back) so it would be difficult.

I have over 15 years of administrative and clerical experience and was thinking of giving work at home a try. Does anybody have any suggestions.

I am not looking to get rich.....just trying to bring in some supplement income that I am about to lose and where that takes me after that ????

    Welcome cowart69!

There are many ways that people make money online as I am sure you have noticed if you have been cruising around the internet at all...[IMG]

The same thing may not work for everyone and we all have our websites and information on what we do in our signatures so as you click and research - don't be afraid to ask questions, wither on the forum here or directly to the owner of the site.

    Happy researching[IMG]

I have a question and a comment on the scam exposer sites.

question; How if they are exposing scams, can they be promoting a online business for themselves, as affiliate etc???

comment; I have been trying to find a legit business and also checking survey's etc. On one exposer site I almost lost money buying into the site they were recommending. Thankfully when I reached the owner of the product I was refunded. Now I will not invest money until I know the system is tried and true.

So thank You from a newbie to this, for your forum!!!

I didn't pay to work outside of my home, so (other then electricity for my computer) why should I pay to work in my home? [IMG]

Wow! Well, my first line of advice would be don't deliver pizzas! That is one of the most dangerous professions out there. Very dangerous, people get hurt etc. That's not to mention the wear and tear on your car and money for liquid gold (gasoline).

Well, since you asked for suggestions, I would say to not necessarily look for something that interests you. You're not trying to find something that makes you feel good, you're trying to find something that makes you money! When you find something that makes you money, trust me, it will feel good!

I promote Wealthy Affiliate, but it's not the only good program out there to promote. There are a variety of programs that people have been successful with. All you have to do is pick a program and start promoting it. Learn how to promote it from other people who have been successful.

Look for programs that have residual income. I don't want to complicate things for you, but from what I can tell, most people that are really successful with this work more than one program. So just keep that in mind that you will eventually do that. Many people have been able to quit their "normal" jobs after building up a supplemental income this way.

If you have any other questions, please ask. We all would be more than happy to help!

    Hi Cowart,

Welcome. It is tough to be facing that drop in income, especially now that the cost of everything seems to be steadily rising. You are smart to be trying to find a way to replace it now rather than waiting until you've already lost it.

I think people say to look for something you enjoy because it is difficult and slow getting started in the majority of cases. If you are dealing with something you don't know anything about or have no genuine interest in, it can be pretty easy to give up when you don't see immediate results.

On the other hand, if you enjoy the subject matter and it interests you, most people seem to be able to persevere a little longer and hang in there until it starts paying.

Yes, you can promote someone's program like dmitch has suggested. There are tons of programs to choose from to promote. But, again, it is hard to promote something well if you have no real knowledge or experience with it or succeeded with it yourself.

It's like an overweight person promoting miracle diet pills, but they haven't lost an ounce themselves. It's hard to be credible in those circumstances.

If you have a hobby or field of interest that you are somewhat knowledgeable about, you can build a website about that subject and earn money from it. You steadily add informative content and build up momentum in the search engines so that you are being found when people are looking for information on that subject.

You can then monetize by allowing advertising (Google, etc.) to be on your site, promoting related affiliate products to earn commissions, create your own products (digital or hardgoods), offer a service, etc.

As your site grows and builds your income will increase. It is a good bit of work up front, but then you can just cut way back and the income continues to come in as your site generates free traffic 24/7.

That's just one of the options available to those who are looking for a steady source of online income.

I hope you find something that is just right for you.

You could apply for a telecommute job like freelance writing or online tuitions , where you set your own hours

What is the "online tuitions" all about?

Any business, including an online business, would require some type of investment. If you are looking for an online job, then you certainly shouldn't have to pay.

That would be the question to Cowart69 as well. Is it a job you are seeking, which some people have already given ideas, or are you looking for an online business opportunity? If it's a job you are looking for, you should not have to invest a penny. If you are looking for a business opportunity, there are several that really work with time and effort. The investment for a business opportunity can vary. I have tried some in the past that weren't worth the amount of disk space they were stored on. Most peoples signatures on the forum has the business that they are promoting. Research what might be a good fit for you and take a stab. It is definately possible to replace $1k a month, but it take some time and effort for sure.
