Hi I'm new. With living on the East Coast and Q&A calls are @ 10:00p est, and talking with a prospect on the West Coast and you want to follow up with them the following day instead of past 11:00p est How would you go about that correctly? Any feedback Thank you in advanced!

  2. Hi Amy
You need to, as a new associate , remember that you are now a business owner. Congratulations by the way. But with being a successful business owner you need to set hours that you can be available. When doing your dials and setting that follow up appointment make sure to keep in mind that you are the only one who can dictate the rules. You are sharing a great opportunity with people and you are the person who is going to guide them through this process. As a professional you can tell a person right up front what times you have available for them.(your schedule) They will see you as a professional and will respect that you are busy and are making time to get their questions answered.
For people who are hours from your time zone you may have to make a few exceptions to your times if they are following the steps and doing as you have asked but just cant take your call at any other time.
I live in PST and I have had EST people ask me to call them at 8AM EST ...well thats 5AM to me and I do like to sleep so Im definately gonna try and make that call for another time. Some directors set a special day when they take care of the funny timed calls staying up late or getting up early to make these dials but Again Amy. You get to call all the shots here. This is your business.

    I hope this helps
and once again Congratulations on your new Home Based Business

I do not set appointments with prospects, which allows me to be more flexible in my day. I DO take calls upto midnight, but it's not something I post or share with people AND it's based upon how I'm feeling after 9PM CST.

The great thing about voice mail is that EVERYONE who is serious about working with you will leave a message.

    Jay,

You mentioned that you don't set appointments with your prospects. Do you wait for them to call you back to do the f/u call? Just curious as I haven't heard anyone doing that before.

    Thanks,
    Kim

    Great question Kim.

Jay how do you handle follow up calls? What is the process you use to get the information to the prospect and then collect a decision?

    TIA,

    Rhonda

    Hi Kim,

It really depends on the prospect. If THEY follow the directions I've given to them, then I'll call them back....BUT if they have not reviewed the information I've given to them.......NEXT!!!

There's no reason to follow up with someone who has not reviewed your information.

    Hi Rhonda,

I primarily use voicemail to get the information out to my prospects. I get an email when they've called with the caller id so I know who's doing their reasearch and who's just curious.

MOST of my prospects call me back and ALL of my team members called me to get started. I just don't chase people.

    Thanks Jay,

I call my leads 1st and you are right if on the follow up call which the 2 of us scheduled they have not reviewed the information then the ball is now in their court.

I like Jay dont set up f/u appointments anymore. It is a direct result of my business growth. When I first started I would double and triple book f/u calls. This was because I was trying to get the momentum started. As I have been doing this full time for 2 years now my business has grown where I now have team mates bringing training sales as well as my posture is to the point I feel comfortable telling a prospect if they dont call me after looking at the info im moving on to the next prospect. That comes with time and belief in yourself. As a new person though it is important to set a schedule for your office hours and stick to it. Even if the propsect says they are coming in platinum its better for you to keep to your schedule. Ive heard football players that score a touchdown say it this way "Act like you have been there before".

    Hi Amy,
I had a timing problem also, as I live in the mountain zone. I just started buying leads that were area code specific to my time zone. I get my leads from mlmleadgenie dot com. They are a little bit more expensive, but it is working out for me.

    Evelyn,

How is your contact and closing with mlmleadgenie leads?

ETA: Which type are you getting?

    Hey Rhonda,

A wise person I know in Coastal ( one of the CSG Co-founders) once taught me a lead is a lead is a lead. This has served me well in my business. I would focus on qualifying the person on the phone in that first contact to really find out if they are looking or not. Thats a key point and you know what I ask them that right off. I let them know im a serious business person and my time is valuable. I do say it in a nice way. I might sound brash in the forum but if you ever heard any of my recorded live prospecting calls for the CSG ( when I was a member) you will see I have posture but im also flexible and easy to talk to. When you establish that posture upfront and let them know if they dont review the info this will be your only contact as you have more people to contact it weeds out the pretenders. With that being said id say get the most leads you can get for your money and find other ways to promote yourself. Jay is one of the most successful people in Coastal and I know he doesnt just call leads. Learn marketing and rev your business up.

    Hi Rhonda,
I purchase the area code/local leads that are phone interviewed leads. Some of them are only a day old. I am new and still learning and I am sure a lead is a lead is a lead, but for me while I am still building my confidence, I do like talking to people who are willing to talk with me. I am not qualified yet, but I can say that I have a few people very interested. Just a matter of time.

    Thanks Evelyn,

Please share how things go with those leads. We all are looking for decent lead sources to continue to grow our businesses and to pass along to our team.

Speaking of leads, some members of my team and I are trying out a new program: a business that provides leads with a guarantee of 10 sales and also assists with promoting Coastal via their sales reps.

I've only just begun the process and it will take several months to truly evaluate it, but I'll keep everyone posted as to how well it works.

    Thanks Tonya,

Sounds interesting. I've worked with SEVERAL leads companies, but refused to share a provider til they cut the mustard. Now we can't make it all come down to purchases, but here's what I look for.

Are the phone numbers correct? If I ask for John...John lives there

Do they remember asking for info? If I get too many who have forgotten it's a waste of time to buy from that provider

Are they truly open to an opportunity or were they looking for a free iphone? MANY of the top leads companies do use incentivized leads....which means they requested the info to get something for nothing....WRONG TYPE OF LEAD TO USE.

That is so true and that is what I look for in a lead company. I don't expect everybody to join my opportunity but my goodness they should be honestly open to receiving the information and remember requesting information.

Very interesting...I didn't know that lead companies use freebies as incentives. That would explain why many of the people I call say that they never filled a form to receive info about starting a home-based business. Can anyone recommend lead companies that do NOT do this? I find this very unethical, IMHO.

    TIA,
    Kim

I found mlm lead genie leads very often saying they didn't fill out anything BUT i didn't get the phone verified/company specific. perhaps I shall give them another chance as their prices are good and I must say, their customer service is pretty good.

Phone verified don't always mean much either I have gotten phone verified before (not from mlmlead genie) that the phone number was disconnected. Tell me how was that phone verified? [IMG]

I have not tried the leads Jay recommends yet but I'd suggest trying them...Jay has made money using those leads. [IMG]
