Hey, need some advice here, lets say I write 30 articles to promote my blog, I know I will be sending them to the article directory and I will be posting each article on my blog for some great original content, but I also have a squid lens that I use to promote my blog and I was going to post the same articles on my lens so it would also have some good original content, what I'm wondering is if having the same articles on bolth the blog and the lens, will I get punished by the search engines for having duplicate content?

There has already been an interesting discussion on duplicate content that you might find useful.

Post the article on your blog first and wait until they are indexed by Google. Then you can submit them everywhere. But there are some other tactics you should know before posting and submitting your articles. Read this article on duplicate content, it is very thorough.

    Rewriting it again may help.

I think it is best to keep your article content for your website unique - I would not duplicate that content via other avenues, as it may hurt you. I'd stick with pcwork's suggestion and rewrite.

    I would not duplicate either.

    Just to be safe.

you won't get penialized for duplicate content on that. Duplicate content has to be on many many sites before you will get penialized. But you can replace a few words or re-write a few paragraphs. That should help you out on your site.

I would suggest keeping the content on your blog original from the content you submit to Squidoo and other article directories. When someone comes to your blog from an article you have posted elsewhere, they are going to interested in seeing more NEW information, not the same duplicate content.
