Does anyone know a good email marketing program?

That is a vague question. If you are looking for an autoresponder to build a list with I like Get Response.

If you want to buy leads and email them check out Nitro List Builder. They use co-registration leads which can be good if you work at developing a relationship with them.

If you want to learn more about email marketing check out Jimmy Brown's programs.

Be careful - some of these programs are really not worth very much at all.

If you are building your list - you will also need to think about ways to make your communication with the list personal - so be careful about auto responders and that sort of thing.

Aweber works great, but they cost about $19 a month. You might want to try Constant Contact - they have a 60 day free trial period.

Is this really an effective marketing plan, I never read my junk mail, whats the turn over rate on emails sent verses consumers brought?

I have also been using Get Response for about 2 years now and have not had a problem with it. It is a great tool to have. I find it really easy to use.

I just hope you aren't thinking of spamming people when you say 'email marketing'. If you're talking about a legit newsletter, then my best advice would be ORIGINALITY!!

I can't say it enough times.

I've subscribed to a number of IM newsletters over the years, and it very quickly becomes obvious which ones are just regurgitating the same old stuff from OTHER newsletters. If you can't give me real VALUE, then you've lost me.

    Good luck! [IMG]

I tried rent-a-list. It cost me $90 to send 500 emails and i didn't earn one penny. Something fishy going on there. Good Luck.

Email marketing will work if you provide good content.
The users that subscribe to the newsletter are interested in your content. It is legal.

Woo I would have asked me about rent-a-list first[IMG] They can be good if you purchase the right products from them. I've found that if you purchase their cheapest products you get the best returns...yeah go figure. I spent like 12 bucks or some ungodly cheap amount for 50 visitors or something like that and signed up 3 people on 12 bucks... long term it was money well spent, as all three of these people are producing for me now so the 12 is now a monthly income I would not turn away. I think it was their Targeted Incentivized Email advertising that I used a couple of times. I never like to spend a boat load on advertising so when I find a very cheap way to get in front of people I'll try it a few times. I send out one of these maybe once a month and it'll generally last me 1.5 weeks for the 50 unique visits.
IMHO never send emails to people, if only because SPAM as made getting someone to read your email next to impossible.
