I have seen in the forum about freelance writing. Alot of people recommend Elance. I love to write, my words and point can come out so smooth on paper, tongue tied if I would speak. I checked out that site, but it looks like you need experience. The more I looked at it, the less confidence I had that I could do it to their standards. Just because I enjoy writing, does that mean this is for me. I'm no professional by all means. Thank you for your time and patients with me as I'm learning to make the most out of my computer!

I don't know much about Elance since I haven't tried it personally. I only know through friends who have used it. I would suggest www.associatedcontent.com as a great place to get your feet wet in freelance writing though. It's not the highest paying site, but they do pay regularly and you can pick what topic you want to write about for your articles and get some experience with keywording and SEO and all the other fun stuff that you need to know to write on the internet. Just a thought.

I agree completely. AC is a very good place to get practice on effective web writing while making a couple of bucks. Also, if you don't have a website of your own with samples, you can put your AC page on sites like elance and other freelance sites.

If you do choose to give elance a go, be aware that right now the market for freelance writers is glutted with crappy writers who will write for next-to-nothing. On elance in particular, the only way to get a good pay rate is to build a lot of good elance customer feedback, which you'll probably have to take a pretty low rate to develop (that's assuming you don't have lots of other verifiable online experiene).

In other words: Even if you go with the free account, there will be dues to pay.

Associated Content is a great way to go. The pay isn't that great, but you can submit your articles to AC and get paid by them, and also submit them to other ezines and link back to your website. Make sure to put a different spin on your articles to submit to them - otherwise they might be rejected.
