Lets say on your Google Adsense Account, you have

80 page impressions with zero clicks

Is that actually worthless as opposed to

80 page impressions with 10 clicks?

If some one is running eCPM based site targetted ads on your site, it is not worthless

    10 out of 80 is 12.5%. That's a decent clickthrough.

0 out of 80 is meaningless, wouldn't you say? The problem is the zero. If you had at least 1, you might be able to calculate worth. This assumes that clicks are what count for you.

On the other hand 80 impressions is better than 0 impressions. Not entirely sure why you are asking what you asked.

Thanks to both PC Works and NS for your answers

The reason for the question, I'm getting lots of page impressions with little or no clicks

Which I'm assuming people are going to the page but not clicking to getting info on the product? or not clicking on the Google Ads.

Is this what you are asking?

The page impressions is how many times google displayed ads on your site for viewers.

The clicks are how many times people clicked on one of the Google ads.

Depending on the type of account you have will determine the importance of these to you. For me, I only get "income" from Adsense when someone clicks on the ads. But I believe what pcwork is referring to is if you are signed up to get paid per so many impressions like per thousand or whatever.

    Does that help?

That explains it pretty well. Thanks
I didn't know there were different types Google Adsense accounts.
To be honest, I'm not sure which type I have, I'll earn a few cents here and there. The most I've made in one day was $2

Impressions set ups work well with high traffic. Click pays would be more appropriate for low traffic sites. Make sense?

maybe try repositioning the ads on your site to test which ones have the highest clickthrough rates!

Wouldn't Google have a problem with that? If I click on my own Google ads?

Definitely! Do not click on your own ads. They are pretty strict about that and would likely close your account. What makemoneyonline means is to place the Google code in different places on your page and see which ones get a better click thru rate.

Google allows you to name your channels so you can track them and see how they do.

It is commonly reported that the best ad positions are above the fold on the page (before people have to scroll down). And also, across the top and in the upper left are good positions.

You can look at my sites to get an idea of what I mean. My ads are in the "recommended places." This month my click thru rate is about 6-7%. It isn't super duper, but it's okay.
