So I have been organizing my information and it dawned on me...with all the articles I have ready to write and with the expert knowledge I have in my field, I should be writing an ebook!

Has anyone here successfully created their own ebook?

I want to market my ebook through the clickbank marketplace...how easy is it to get other members to market your products?

Do you recommend putting afilliate links in an ebook?

I have been creating my site 8 Steps to buying a Car with Bad credit and I realized, I have a lot more information that I can provide and why should I give it all away for free...

    I have already started writing.

Does anyone have any recommendations for font size or type in an ebook?

From other ebooks I have seen ont is rather large so a 60 page ebook is really only 5-10 pages of 12 pt font. Is this normal...

    Any help would be appreciated...

I will worry about my sales page and marketing later, I am just tryong to get my product together. I already know that I could market my product offline for a small profit, but the big money will come through clickbank.

I have written two ebooks and sold them on Clickbank. You can get information about how to proceed here:

    https://www.clickbank.com/getting_started.html

As for font, it doesn't really matter - it just needs to be readable. I would say to use at least 12 pt type in whatever font you want. You can create the document using Microsoft Word, and convert it to a PDF format with added security using Adobe Reader Pro, which you can get a free 30 day trial on.

You can put affiliate links within the ebook. Before giving it away for free, I would try marketing it at a low price and gradually increase the price from there, unless you are extremely confident people will buy via the affiliate links in your ebook.

    Hi dbmoney,

I've created several ebooks but not for the purpose of selling them. I had to do it for school.

That depends upon your copy, your network, your authority, and the quality of your ebook.

Some type of links, yes. Use them sparingly and place them wisely. At least have a link to your site.

Try it with 12 or 14 and see how it looks. You can always change it and recompile your ebook.

I wrote an ebook earlier this year, but never got around to making the website to sell it (maybe sometime soon), so I can chime in.

I would recommend getting OpenOffice to create the ebook. I tried a few different things when I made mine, and was happy once I downloaded this from OpenOffice.org (it's basically a free version of MS Office). You can write a document and then save it as a pdf, or you can just import a Word doc and then save it as a pdf. Easy to do.

As for length, that varies. I've bought some books that were under 10 pages, but most seem to average around 50 pages. I guess I write a lot and wanted my ebook to be really detailed, so it is about 100 pages using 12 pt arial font.

And yes, use some links, but like newbieshield said, use them sparingly. People will get turned off when they buy an ebook and then find out it is only more offers.

Hope this helps some. Good luck!

    Hi johnjimat,

Not as in paid professor at a college but I've always enjoyed teaching people various things. I don't expect anything in return. The reward is helping someone master a skill or get past a sticking point. How often do we get the chance to do that?
