    Hello to all,

If you're looking into starting your ow home business, research that business inside & out. What I have found out that if it's a legit home based business, that business will give you a 1099 at the end of the year. In this day & age of "internet marketing" one really has to do their homework before starting a business. Let's face it, there are so many scams out there, and they don't care of you eat tomorrow or not. I do. I care. This is small information for you, but it's information that most newbie's don't know. Any questions you have, I'll be more than happy to snswer. Good luck.

That may be so in some businesses where you are an employee, but there are many business opoortunities out there, where you are a business owner and in that case, you will file your own taxes.

I file a schedule c with my business...

    Yes, I agree with Mountainmom.

Because we're self-employed we do not receive T4s (Revenue Canada) from our network marketing company. We are not employees. We are independent affiliates.

Not receiving a T4 from our company does not indicate we are in a scam. You're way off.

Hi, thank youe for replying to my post. I'm not an employee, I own my own business & get my commissions from the company that I run. I file my own taxes. The company that partner with, sends out 1099 for the total commissions earned so at the end of the year everyone is compliant with the IRS. Your insite is greatly appreciated.

    To your continued success,
    Michelle

    OnlineBusiness, that is excellent advice!

The Internet is a global marketplace where unscrupulous operators lurk behind fancy websites and hypnotic promotions, waiting to pounce on unsuspecting victims and raid their pocketbooks.

So, it's always in your best interest never to take any opportunity at face value, but thoroughly investigate it with a sober mind, using whatever methods have worked for you in the past.

The act of navigating life itself is nothing more than making a series of judgments. It's the quality of those judgments that determines our experiences, attitudes and lifestyle.

If you apply the same approach online, with care and a clear head, you'll have a better chance of avoiding the many scams, pitfalls and slippery slopes that pockmark cyberspace.

Oh, all the money I wasted on silly gurus and scams when I first got into this game! Makes my blood boil every time I think about it!!! [IMG]

Now I have become one of the X-Men - I just click the lil 'X' whenever my superpowers of GuruSense and Scamdar alert me to imminent financial danger, and viola, the day is saved! [IMG]

Thank you for the reply. With any business, either on the internet or otherwise, do your homework. Scammers are out there yes, so are legit businesses. Be smart and look into them greatly.

Don't join the program that asks money for membership or ebook.

    Michelle,

Before you start answering tax or business questions, please understand two things:

    1. You'll only receive a 1099 if you gross at least $600.00 in a given year and you do business in the USA.

    2. Definitely claim all of your income whether or not you make at least $600.00.

Else, the IRS will go to town regarding late payment penalties.
