That's a personal decision. What is your ethical stance? If you feel it is a scam, are you comfortable making your money back at the expense of others?

Right, so decide if that is worth making your money back or not.

Cut your losses and move on to the next thing and make your money up there. Don't burn bridges to remake an investment when you can use the same bridges to create an income...

Wow... I would never promote a company if it was a SCAM. Why scam other people just to make your money back? I've been scammed many times but would never thought to continue on just to make my money back. I guess that's why I'm not RICH like all the scammers on the internet promising thousands of dollars each month without having to do much work because of their PROVEN System. Blah blah blah... anyway, good luck with your decision!!!

Close IT!!!! Unless you want to be known as the person who took others for a ride with XYZ Company? In fact, tell all of those who you have signed up or whatever to close shop too.

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of other opportunities out there where you can make your money back and still be respected.

However, its a personal decision and its up to you...just don't be approaching any friends or family! or me! [IMG]

At the risk of looking very stupid... how do you tell if a scheme is pyramid? I thought all MLM were pyramid.. by definition.. I'm confused..

How does MPM fit into MLM/pyramid? Or doesnt it?

    My head hurts![IMG]

If you know it is apyramid scheme for sure. I don't thnk you should continue. You should file a complaint.

There are so many home-base opportunities out there that are legitimate. My business, for example, are giving real products and real potential with zero cost to join.

No MLM does not mean pyramid scheme. MLM means legitimate business, but pyramid scheme will not be able to sustain up to certain point. Business plan is completely different.

An easy way to tell if something is a pyramid scheme is to look at the pay plan...is it possible for you to earn more than the person above you?

I have recently joined an MLM that is only 27 months old, there is an old lady that is earning more that the people who started the business!

A corporate ladder looks a lot like a pyramid...the CEO on top, directors below him, managers below them etc etc. Has a manager got a chance of earning more than the CEO? Don't think so!

Personally, I couldn't promote a business if I knew if was a pyramid scheme. If you know this for sure, then I would get out of it asap. Think about it.....you wouldn't want to be scammed, so don't do it to other people. How do you know it's a pyramid scheme? Reason I ask is because alot of people assume that a pyramid scheme is something it really isn't, there's alot of bad information on the internet. Check it out thoroughly and do what your gut is telling you to do. Good luck!

    Hi South,

You can Google "difference between mlm and pyramid scheme". That should explain a few things or at least give you a general idea.

It would be wise to get out now. Not only is it the ethical thing to do, but if it is truly a pyramid scheme getting out may save you some possible legal trouble.

    Better safe than sorry.

    Viraj,

What causes you to believe you may have got into a pyramid scheme? What tipped you off, if you don't mind my asking?

Would you want others to be scammed by this? How does it feel to get ripped off? That is how others will feel if you promote the scam.

You might consider blowing the whistle on this horror. Try the FTC, Attorney General, and the BBB. Open fire on scams. Don't hold back. You should be able to get your money back if you state the reasons that you mentioned.

I have been scammed quite a few times. There was one company I was promoting, I did not get any payment at all. Anyway I posted a positive comment about them on a forum and someone made a snide remark, 'like, good luck to you, stupid'. I was a bit offended at first, and thought "no ned to be mean". But that comment prompted me to check the site a little closer, so I started looking for a contact link or button and just couldn't find one. The ones that were in my welcoming email was a one way address, so my mails kept coming back. So I wrote a email to all the persons who signed under me, to let them know my decision and why and I just left. I haven't been back.

My advice, those persons who signed under you, need to know the truth. If you have their contact details, you can keep in touch with them with any good opportunities you may come across. They can be the beginning of your "list".
