Make your presence felt by carrying out intelligent marketing over the Internet. Perform search engine optimization (SEO) for your site, since the majority of buyers visit websites after spotting them come in the first three or four pages of search engine results. You can either hire professional services or carry out Internet marketing by yourself.Associate yourself with web sites providing complimentary products or services on the Internet. This helps you in increasing your web presence both for search engines and for your customers.

Another great way to "increase your web presense" is having other relevant websites "link" to your website. It's as simple as sending them an email and asking them to add your URL to their links page, and you'll do the same.

This "link exchange" technique along with other variables will help get your website in top positions on certain search engines like google. Thus, increasing your web presence! (link link!)

As well as linking, regular content with keywords scattered throughout also contributes to search engine optimization. It is these keywords that are searched within the search engines and if done properly your site could rank high.

With a high search engine ranking then your site could recieve lots of free traffic

Just a word of caution about backlinking - they have to be links that are relevant to the content of the site you are linking to. Throwing out random backlinks in random articles etc. will not help you much in terms of SEO, although admittedly it may extend your overall internet 'presence'....

Google changes its SEO algorithm all the time though, so personally I don't put much stock in SEO anymore...
