Welcome Jonathan! Wow... how did I go about it? I spent a lot of money on a venture that I am no longer with...lol [IMG]

    Do I regret it? Nope.

I learned so much in my journey and although I was one of those that has spent a ton of money on various stuff, I am still alive in spite of it.[IMG]

And I will never give up. I do make pretty decent money now with various online stuff, mostly affiliate marketing , and the secret for you is to learn as much as you can about the various ways to make money from home and if you see something that strikes your interest, don't be afraid to try it.

There are some guys on here with decent mlm or network marketing types of businesses and that is actually a great way to learn about internet marketing as well.

    Have fun![IMG]

2 words: personal development. Everybody has to learn the ropes. You'll make plenty of what some people call mistakes but if you do PD they'll simply be opportunities to learn from.

I immerse myself in 2-3 hours of self improvement daily. Hone your mental tools and everything else falls into place. You'll be coming from a more creative place so you'll naturally do the things which successful people do.

Also never stop learning about your niche. Read voraciously daily.

And of course if you have any questions feel free to fire away. WAH Forum is a group of helpful mentors.

    That's it...the rest is history.

    Slow and steady. [IMG]

Oh, I was so confused when I started and didn't know where to begin. I did a lot of reading and trial and error. I didn't understand half of what I read - very frustrating.

Eventually, I found a free affiliate marketing ebook that seemed to be written in a way I could actually understand. What a relief!

The light clicked on in my brain and I determined to take their advice and follow it faithfully step by step. They were right - it works!

I didn't make a lot of money fast. I made a little, then a little more, etc., until now I make a modest living. [IMG] It took me 3 years to get to that point.

As others mentioned, I'm still learning and growing. Each time I reach a goal I've set, I raise the bar for myself and set a higher goal. I find the whole process invigorating and fun, although at times I do get a bit bogged down when I feel like I don't have enough time to do all that I'd like to get done in a day. [IMG]

I'm looking into outsourcing! Less work for me in the long run.

Jonathan, with your determination and willingness to learn, you'll be able to reach your goal of being your own boss. It's a climb, but the view is lovely. [IMG]

    Blessings,

I got started with affiliate marketing. The company had a comprehensive resource center with information on just about everything pertaining to online marketing. I was an absolute newbie with a lot of passion and determination, but completely lost in the virtual world.

I read and studied as much as I could until I slowly began to see how things fit together. It took me 4 months to earn my first check, about $23. That was the day that convinced me it was possible to make money online.

All I basically had to do after that was to keep replicating the process, do it in much less time, and significantly increase the amounts. [IMG]

There is no free ride. There's also no escaping learning the ropes and developing yourself. It's required. There will be frustration and euphoria. You'll make strides forward and then slide back sometimes. But your persistence and perseverance will see you through.

Angie said it best: "It's a climb, but the view is lovely."

Don't buy into all the hoopla success stories that people try and make you believe that they've always been successful. Truth be told...we all struggled and struggled in a bad way. So join the crowd. Starting out, you will make some mistakes, you will fail, you will get frustrated, you will be tempted to quit because it all just don't seem to be coming together.

When you get there, know that you are in the right place. Your story is what is going to bring someone else over.

Hi Jonathan, welcome to the forum.

I've always been a self starter and hard worker so that part came naturally. However, learning the ropes takes time. Plan on working when your friends are playing. Like Hermas said, "there's no free ride."

Work on personal development, and learn how to deal with people. Since any business you choose, you will be dealing with people every day. Communication is a major key to any successful home business owner. Study it...learn it...live it!

It will be the ride of your life, so enjoy your journey!

I am kinda in that mode right now... my SBI site took a leap in traffic and I am finding it very invigorating and fun to raise the bar!

Plus it boosted my energy level to keep working on my other sites...[IMG]
