Well...I just have to say that I left Melaleuca....due in part to the cost of the product...and the fact it is Not better than the ones they do comparisons with...But the Main Reason Is...once I signed up my sponsor Dumped me!!!...Yes thats right, so much for team support...I emailed and I called her for 6 weeks...and NOTHING!!!...I never heard from her until 2 days AFTER I resigned...and THEN she wanted to know if I needed any help to get started...I was pursued relentlessly during the courtship (over 30 emails, phone calls)...and when I finally decided okay maybe this is right for me...within 24 hours of my signup...not a peep, message, or phone call...absolutely nothing. And I was told that I would have all the support I needed. Funny thing...is this was my 2nd go round with them...I was giving them another chance....because I had been Dumped by them the 1st time...I was just a number for my sponsor to make director...no more.... I will Never go back....

I can't begin to count the many times I've been exactly where you found yourself, Peggy! Oh how they *court* you until you sign on the dotted line...and whoosh! They suddenly disappear! Ugh....

Sometimes, it's easier to point the finger at someone else when we fail. It's not right if the person that enrolled you did not follow up with you. However, I have the email address of 6 of the people in my support group. I was given 1. I already had 2. I went and got the other 3 on my own. My experience has been very different than yours. I find people in my group to be very supportive, and I am in regular contact with many of them.

I quit mlm because of the back slapping and all the, go grind more people. Got tired of trafficking friends and family. Although I am a fan of products, most of the methods are outdated and really hard to teach, especially when people have a small warm market.

Changed all that for affiliate marketing, people came out of the woodwork I love what I do. No more hand holding and late nights trying to train people. Information is still in top demand.
Learning to advertise online was a big help. Some of my friends still love the MLM models. My wife and I were both directs with Melaeuca. The company and upline are good people.
I was preaching the dream living the nightmare, still see my upline working like crazy to keep people in and signing up new reps.

I remember back when the gold rush started the guys who went to mine the gold were the last to get wealthy but the guys who sold the tools made a mint and they did it first.

To me it makes more sense to sell the tools to the gold miners and not the other way around.

TIME AND MONEY freedom is the big picture right?

Well, I wish everyone well and much success in any endeavor that you go into ....

The real issue imho should be "cost of the product...and the fact it is Not better than the ones they do comparisons with".
Even with sponsor support, you are stuck selling overpriced items that are no better than less expensive options you can get retail.

That they compared their toothpaste with the MOST expensive, OVERPRICED toothpaste they could find (Rembrant's) at Walmart, was but one major example for me...

What are you even talking about? I just looked it up. The Melalueca tooth polish is 3.89 priced comparitively with all the leading brands. In fact I'll give you a nice little break down.

Crest 3D Whitening $6.37 and 1.9 per ounce
Sesodyne $6.28 and 1.46 per ounce
Melaleuca $3.89 and 1.02 per ounce

I pulled the prices for the other two off of Walmart's website. You are correct that Rembrandt was expensive, but I didn't even look them up. I guess if I wanted the cheapest I could find I could buy a smaller tube of Colgate or Aquafresh, but I don't like what they put in them. See below:

    How does BAKING SODA compare?
    That's what I use!

But if you want to do a PROPER comparison - compare Melaleuca's toothpaste with TOM'S toothpaste (Available in a wide range of similarly HEALTHY toothpaste compositions) at LESS THAN ONE DOLLAR PER OUNCE!
    http://www.tomsofmainestore.com/category/oralcare/toothpaste/flouride-free

You are comparing a toothpaste that claims to be healthy, to WHITENING toothpaste, and Sensodyne?
They are not even in the same class!
THIS is specifically what I mean by Melaleuca being MISLEADING!

Compare Melaleuca products with SIMILAR PRODUCTS and their price "advantage" simply vanishes...

Melaleuca's toothpaste is more expensive than SIMILAR types of toothpaste - TOM'S Toothpaste is but one example!
And you don't need to join an MLM to buy it!

About 7 years ago I was marketing the Melaleuca products, and I would have to say that I thought the products for the most part were great. Maybe in most cases a bit pricey, but overall more a upper quality product and I don't think they could be compared with lower end products. I did not stick with them because I did not have good upline support, and I have also learned that I don't have the skills required to be able to market products. For some that is natural, and is not the case for myself. I am a full time machinist working a job I love to go to each day, but always looking for some easy residual type income or investment online. I have found a company which is doing just that for me.

Clearly, you have no idea what is in Melaleuca toothpaste because you have never bought it.

Clearly you don't know anything about their products because you haven't done much research on them.

Do you know how many patents they have? They have a number of products that can't be purchased anywhere else in the world.

Do you know how many awards they have won? Funny thing about awards is that they don't just give them out for the hell of it. Also, if it was such a lousy company, how have they been around for 26 years and grown their sales to $1.1 billion dollars in 2012 in the face of a tough economy. They must be doing something right.

I have to BUY a product to know what's in it??
All I should have to do is read the list of ingredients!!

    Now from my reading:
I know Melaleuca's Koala Pals Berrylicious - their CHILDREN'S toothpaste, contains FLOURIDE, HYDRA SILICA, TRICLOSAN and SODIUM LAUROYL SARCOSINATE... ALL of which are contained int this list of ingredients YOU listed as what you "don't like" when Colgate or Aquafresh uses them, (do you like these ingredients when Melaleuca uses them?):
I know that this link YOU provided states: "Dental hygiene products that you and YOUR CHILDREN use everyday may contain toxins that have been linked to cancer blindness and even death."
And then goes on to elaborate on these ingredients which are in Melaleuca's Koala Pals Berrylicious, (their CHILDREN'S toothpaste no less! http://www.goodguide.com/products/278511-melaleuca-koala-pals-berrylicious):

"Sodium Fluoride: One of the main ingredients in rat poison..."
"Triclosan: A pesticide found in many types of toothpaste"
"Hydrated Silica: A whitener that damages tooth enamel"
    AND,
"Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate has been restricted for use in cosmetics in Japan" - this from Melaleuca's own website!

So I am wondering if YOU even know what ingredients are in Melaleuca's toothpaste!

Clearly I HAVE done the research!

And indeed, it's NO EASY TASK to discover the ingredients in Melaleuca's toothpaste - a google search yields nothing...
At least not on the first two pages of results!

BUT my google search DID reveal a RIP OFF REPORT (one of sooo very many re: Melaleuca!), detailing misleading claims about Melaleuca's toothpaste, and their misleading claims in general!
    http://www.ripoffreport.com/home-based-business/melaleuca/rachelle-ferguson-and-melaleuc-xm946.htm

And this was just the result of my research to investigate a PRICE COMPARISON!

Until then, I had falsely assumed that Melaleuca's toothpaste was at least of the very best quality, regardless of price!

Now, I bet Melaleuca probably puts out toothpaste that doesn't have so many harmful ingredients, but I simply could NOT find one via google search.

And the only information about their toothpaste YOU mentioned was the price - no product name, no ingredients...

Perhaps like you say, I'll never know what's IN their toothpaste, until I actually BUY some!
Of course, that's but one of another list of issues involving MLMs and Melaleuca!

Your drone about how "great" Melaleuca is, has NOTHING to do with what's in their toothpaste, or it's comparative price - which is what comment exchange was SUPPOSED to be about!

i.e. What on EARTH does "how many patents they have", have to do with their TOOTHPASTE INGREDIENTS???

This started off as a PRICE comparison!

Casinos, for one "lousy company" example, have been around MUCH longer... Are they also "doing something right"?

  14. Kyle_K

    Kyle_K Member

False! It doesn't contain triclosan. Nice try.

Also, casinos are highly profitable businesses. I like to make money. Can you show me how I can invest $29 and own a portion of a casino and become wealthy? I would love to hear you tell me how I can earn an on-going residual income from a casino. This ought to be good!

  15. TJamMoneyMan

    TJamMoneyMan Well-Known Member

But it DOES contain Sodium Benzoate - "Suspected of causing skin or organ sense toxicity"

Mainly I'm stymied that there are so many harmful ingredients in Melaleuca toothpaste, when they so ardently claim otherwise.

It's so easy to make errors, since you have to search and search to find information on Melaleuca products - until you actually BUY them...

First, let's see if anyone, other than those at the top of the Melaleuca Pyramid, can actually make "an on-going residual income", from Melaleuca!

Now, care to do a REAL price comparison?
That's what this is supposed to REALLY be about, yet you avoid it like the plague!

So, you're ok with Casinos, as long as you can "get a piece of the action"?

Your choice, they're legal, but that makes it seem like you're ok with making money by deceiving others into THINKING they are making money - which is what Casinos (and Melaluca) are all about!

When building a business at home OR searching for a way to own your own business,
to be your own boss, and build a residual income, be wary of these RED FLAGS.

    1. The company is NOT established with a great track record
    2. Product / service you would be promoting does NOT compete well in the REAL Market
    3. Monthly customer re-order rate is POOR (less than 20%)
    4. Hyped up promises of making BIG money
    5. A secondary "stream" of income from a company that promises to HELP you build your "primary" home business with a "lead generation" or "blogging"

So outsourcing to the phillipines, paying them less than $2 an hour is more ethical than casino's? btw I have been paid monthly residuals from Mela for 9 yrs with very minimal effort. How is that a pyramid scheme?

I've lived in the Philippines for years. When I was there the conversion rate was 20 Philippine Pesos per US Dollar.
After raising as high as 50, the rate is now 40 PP per USD.

The approximate cost of raising a child, WELL, is about $30 per MONTH - try raising a child on that, here in the USA!

$2 per hour is a VERY GOOD salary, ESPECIALLY in the rural areas. That really does comparatively equate to to an American here making about $80 per hour too!
Unskilled labor was had for ONE DOLLAR PER DAY, when I was there - and you were constantly, CONSTANTLY besieged with offers to hire (they'd work for less than 1/2th that rate on the local economy!).

Paying American wages to people in a third world economy is ludicrous which greatly helps to destabilize and ruin their economy.
Paying a fair local price is called the "free market", by the way!

In any event, this is all upfront, open and honest.

I can hardly say the same for Casinos!!
Their only source of "ethics" is their legally binding obligation to post disclaimers.
Their customers do NOT make the money they've been duped into believing is a real possibility.

Casinos make their money from sheer deception, nothing else - just like Pyramid MLMs.
So it doesn't surprise me that those who would seek to profit from Melaleuca would also like to profit from Casinos, if the opportunity were there.

If you don't know how MLM's are little more than pyramid schemes, you have quite a bit to learn.

That's how pyramid schemes work... Those on the top get paid, those on the bottom do NOT!

(And of course, I do NOT believe that "very minimal effort" BS!)

So were is your proof? you seem to know more about Mela than me. Prove to me mela is a pyramid scheme and I'll believe. I will gladly show my business report which also shows one of my enrollers surpassing their enroller in income. I'll also let you interview my family about how the products help them. How a good friend of mine lower his cholesterol naturally with our supplements. My wife is no longer using her medication for epilepsy due to mela's supplements! Listen, without you even knowing me you bravely call me a liar from behind your computer screen! Show me PROOF of your statements or otherwise go troll someone elses business. Yes your statement did hurt, because I know the truth, Mela is a good business.
