So many mistakes, so little time!

I have had experience with a variety of work at home opportunities. I have made so many mistakes. But even with that, I have learned that making mistakes, in any learning process is just part of the process.

I don't see any of those mistakes as failures, but as stepping stones to success! It can be frustrating, but what's wrong with trying some things out until you find what fits and what works for you?

If you set specific goals, understand obstacles and create an action plan to overcome obstacles, there is no way you can fail.

Try to research work at home opportunities BEFORE putting money out for it.

Check the Better Business Bureau for any complaints on the business.

Network and ask others their opinion on the opportunity.

Once you choose an opportunity, commit to it! Allow sufficient time to see results (most likely 6months to a year).

If the opportunity didn't go as well as you hoped, consider all of the lessons learned from the experience.

Good advice. I think a lot of people give up on a plan too quickly and end up trying a lot of businesses without giving any of them time to develop. This results in a lot of wasted money and a lot of frustration.

If you really believe in a business stick with it. Don't expect overnight results, work hard at it and chances are you will be rewarded.

All very true. After all, which attitude will get you good results?

    1. I've been trying to do this for 2 months now and I just can't get any sales! >pout<

    2. I don't have any sales yet, but I believe I can do it!

    The latter, of course! [IMG]

Think about it--when you start a local job at a factory, restaurant, or whatever, do you get paid for nothing? No, you have to work to get paid!

Yeah I know, you know the company will pay you, and that's probably what keeps you working there. But in a way its the same as online marketing, because you never know when you might lose that job and you never know whether you're going to make it online or not. So you take a chance either way.

I've honestly not made any money online yet, but I've only been trying for about a month, and as I said before, I believe I can do it! (p.s. can you)

Yes. I agree with all of you.
I am committed to my business for a year. Occasionally, i will receive small checks from them. But many times,

Great advise. I agree any program need time to work and a commitment to see it though. If not you will jump from program to program with no results

Preaching to the choir! I remember a time where I never completed anything. I wanted results and I wanted them now.

With a little patience and persistence, I've learned (the hard way) that money can indeed be made online and at home.

It's so hard to not see success as failure, but like you say GTODCoach, it's just stepping stones.

I hope everyone can be successful and I think most can.

Great post GTODCoach. In this arena there will be mistakes and it is imperative to learn from them. Most successful business people whether online or off failed in their first few attempts at running a business.

I completely agree! I think that it is a good idea to get your feet wet so to speak with a more "simple" type of business. One that is fairly easy to promote. Which is exactly what I have done and have found success so I don't want to move on, but probably will one day. But the business I am in, anyone can do especially if you are very new to affilliate marketing and have no experience. Another thing to consider is joining under someone who will help you with anything you need. That is another great thing about the business I am with now, there is a live chat 24/7 with everyone in it as well as the actual founders who are at your disposal most anytime for anything you may need. Getting started as a newbie, this is MOST important to have that kind of contact and willingness to help from your piers. This kind of guidance and leadership is VERY hard to find because most MLM's are more worried about only helping the people who got in under them and sadly most of them are new too, but like I say, I finally found a company that it doesn't matter who you got in under, everyone is always there to help everyone! Very rare indeed!
