I just bought a new program to design websites with called WebEasy. I use Dreamweaver and this is by far much easier.
The only downside is that you can't edit the HTML until after you publish the website and adding scripts is a little complicated.
I like it because you can drop and drag all types of elements on to the page and it is very similar to page layout software like InDesign.
It even comes with its own SEO software which lets you optimize the pages for search engines after you publish the site.

I used Site Studio Site Builder for my site and it works really well. The code is fairly easy to edit afterwards. I had to integrate my billing program into it. It was done in a couple of hours. I order site studio through my webhost.

Gads, I think I tried WebEasy a while ago... I must just be rusty, because I didn't find it that easy to work with and rather limiting in the choices of templates available.
I'm working now with Front Page, though I much prefer to code myself, but I'm also wanting to learn some new tricks... unfortunately, I haven't used FP in about 10 years and it's changed so much I need to read the manual that I had to buy to figure it all out... I'm still reading and practicing. Taking forever.

I prefer to write my own code in HTML and php using HTML-Kit ( because the editor is free  ) and I have full control over all the elements.
There's no doubt that using a drag and drop editor like WebEasy will speed up the initial page production, especially if you are a beginner, but I like to get involved with the nitty-gritty of programming which I find gives me better results.
If you ever get stuck with any sort of web programming (HTML,CSS, Javascript etc.) there are good reference pages at www.w3schools.com - (I use them ALL the time  )

Front Page also allows an option to script your own code - but since I'm still learning the way FP works, I haven't actually done too much of it. I too, prefer to code myself, and while I am not an expert, I have found that, like Bob, you get so much more control with HTML.
Perhaps I can have the best of both worlds when I finally get the hang of the WYSIWYG again... it's good to learn both, I think, so that you are always prepared to do either.
