Hi everyone,

I've been having a problem embedding videos in my blog and in emails. I have software that lets me add an http link but when it goes to embed it the screen turns yellow where the picture of the video should be and it doesn't embed or even have a link.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I've actually had trouble in wordpress and another program. It's not just limited to one. I do have a geriatric computer. Could that be some kind of issue?

Depends on how geriatric it is, but wouldn't think so, at least not for your issue.

Many times with different software i.e. Blogger vs WP, etc while you are in the editing area, it will appear to be yellow. (sometimes w/ the 'f' logo inside for flash)

Once saved, then you can go visit the page and should see the vid. Q: Are you using the embed code generated from YOUTUBE, or where.. what is developing the code?

Thanks.

Hi David,

Ok, well that makes sense, it is yellow with the little f in the middle but it doesn't translate to the live page once I hit publish, there's simply nothing there.

In the WP software for example I'm just using the link straight from the YouTube Video that I want to use. Is there a different embedding code?

Thank you so much for your help.

Are you using the Embed code, it's possible that the program you are using no longer has the right code needed to embed the video.
Try this.. grab the embed code from YouTube, click on the HTML tab when editing, and paste the code in where you want it to go. See if it loads up from there..
Also Why not publish something and shoot me a PM with the link.. When I get the chance I'll take a look and see if it loads on my computer.

Hi Carter,

I am having trouble with not just my videos but also ones from other people. Hmm, I am using wordpress so I don't think the problem is with the program but thank you for the suggestion.

Also, I went to YouTube to my videos and there is no html tab when you're editing your video.

Thanks all for your help, I guess nobody has any answers for me. I'll let you know though when I figure it out.

In wordpress in the post section on the upper right there is a button that says HTML.. instead of using whatever plugin you are using (If you are using one) just copy and paste the "embed" code from the youtube video, into the HTML section not the visual section.

I've got to get to work today so I can't give you screen shots right now, if you are still having trouble let me know.

Carrie, I remembered a great plugin for you to use.
Vipers Video Quick Tags.. its a quick and easy way for you to embed your videos properly.

CarrieLyn
I'm not sure about embedding videos in emails but as far as Wordpress goes, the video itself will always look yellow (when you're creating a post) but will turn into a video once you publish it.

Hope that helps!
