I received an email about advertising on twitter. It said it would reach 25,000 viewers? Has anyone tried this?

What kind of tools are they using?
Recently, twitter have tighten their security for spammer. And will closed your account if you are using such services.
Please do a check before jumping into it.

They work, but as the user above me said, they have cracked down on twitter automated tools.
However, there are twitter books and such that show how to gain large amount of followers without violating twitter's policy codes.

I received a clickbank link in an email from a directory that accepted my site for submission. When I clicked on the link it took me to the Advertise on Twitter page. You can write 140 characters for $49.95. You can get to the site at www.tweettrafficads.com. If this looks legit I may give it a try. If not, I'll stay away, but I'll wait until someone with more knowledge of this stuff has a chance to check it out.

I know someone personally who has well over 20K following her on Twitter, but when she blasts a tweet out on the mini-social network, can you guess how many actually sign up or read the tweets?
Nobody. Zip, Zero, Zilch, Nada. Not a soul.
The reason behind this is because Twitter is far too saturated with marketers and tools. I even have a tool in Linux called Twitux which allows me to tweet without ever loading up twitter, but then again I also don't read anyone else's tweets either.
So the effectiveness of marketing on twitter? Worthless. I've used bots, cron jobs, lists, twitter services including TweetAdder and got a following of 50K, but my tweets are not read, not a single person seems to even notice the tweets I send, nobody.
I can see why though. I don't read other people's tweets, so I can't expect them to read my tweets. Personal opinion on Twitter, Twitter Services and Twitter Tools? Stay away from them.
I personally use Twitter these days, but I only use it for syndication to get a link recognized in a search engine, so the only one that seems to have ever noticed my tweets isn't even human, it's a spider.

Thanks for the advise. I never thought of it that way. I don't read tweets either and I guess a "spider" is not going to purchase anything. LOL

I'd stay away from "advertising" on twitter.
Social Networks are where people go to be social, and are naturally suspicious of blatant advertising on there.
If you are looking to advertise, I'd go for PPC for starters.

I have been on twitter for a while, my number of followers increase daily, but not a single signup ever. It is so filled withautomated tools, I don't think human eyes ever read thier tweets anymore.

Don't get me wrong, I still post to Twitter every other day and flood it, but this is done manually through Twitux on Linux. Very great tool. Though I don't expect any of my tweets to be seen by any human regardless of how huge my following is. I merely use Twitter for a form of syndication.
My main form of syndication and marketing though is podcasting, blogging and viral marketing and viral syndication. I have used Google Snatch before though it doesn't function like it used in the day.
So my recommendation is to still keep up with twitter, just tweet every other day or so just to get Google and the other search engines to cross your URL's path, just don't expect Twitter to get signups from twitter itself.
Though regarding social networking, there are social networks out there that allow you to advertise other network marketing programs out there so long as it's not adult/x rated. Though there are some good ways to advertise one facebook, I've seen it done before, so don't rule social networking out entirely. Just got to know how to do it right.

I think GlennELee is correct. I started to use Twitter recently to promote my online store, however most of my new followers are also sellers and promoting their own stores. Some others even, I guess, the same people but use several different twitter accounts to follow me.
My question is, how does Twitter define your message is spam? How can we write the promotion message and avoid to be suspanded?

I have a Twitter account and I agree with those who have said the updates aren't necessarily an effective form of marketing. Most people will never see your updates even if you have a huge following. I still enjoy tweeting from time to time and communicating with other like-minded people there.

Twitter has delivered a few visits to my website but no sales regardless of how little or how often I use it. I have found that some followers (nearly 2,000 on my account) will occasionally respond to my tweets, but for the most part I just toss a couple out every day or so to keep it fresh. I wouldn't spend a lot of time hoping it'll drive a lot of traffic to your site . . . time is better spent on more traditional traffic generating methods.

Twitter is not about blatant advertising. It is networking with others to get to know who you are and who your followers are. Once they get to know you; then they may be interested in your business.
Sharing good advertising tips on Twitter is a good way to attract more people to you.

I have yet to see how Twitter is really helping my business, but I keep hearing everywhere to use Twitter to grow business. I feel pretty stupid because I just don't see it working for me. I do like blip.fm though. I just keep it open and blip a song every now and then and include my web address in the blip message. This will also show up on your Twitter feed, so it's a two-fer.

Hi,
I agree with previous comments about Twitter posts, you can have 1k or 20k contacts but they will not read your posts because they will not be popped up on email accounts like, say comments on forums.
The simple answer is you have to build personal one to one relationships with people on social networking sites and once that relationship is established they will look for your tweets.

Hi,
Believe it or not, but I still read some tweets and may even click on other peoples websites, as a result.
One of the features I like about Twitter is that my updates are also reflected on Facebook. This, in turn, gives me more exposure.
