Hello,

First of all want to know what is adsense and how would this work to promote my affiliate links? Also do you have to pay for this service?

Adsense is a program by google that allows you to put advertising on your site and then earn money through commissions from those that click on those ads and continue on to buy something.

I think you may want to look into adwords. If you are, go here

i think you are confused with adsense and adword.
Both are advertising platform, but if you need to advertise your affiliate program, adword should be the one.

Adsense is links that are put up on your website to earn money, when some one click on it.

Yes, you are confusing the two, however, they work together. You need to pay for Adwords. You go onto the site, create a campaign with keywords.

So, you would choose maybe 20 keywords and decide how much your willing to pay for each one. Could range anywhere between 0.05 to $12 per click. So you would create an ad with a Title line, two descriptive lines and a visual URL. The end user would see all these. After the visual URL, you can put the real URL, your affiliate link, and if someone clicks on your ad, it will cost you 5 cents or whatever and they will be sent to the site with your affiliate code.

Now what happens is, your ad can be display on google search and anyone who has "Adsense" on their site. The two programs work hand in hand. you can choose to have your ad appear in search engine only or on other peoples sites as well.

Just a suggestion though, you sound new. I don't think Adwords is the answer to your prayers. It can easily cost you hundreds of dollars if you don't know what your doing. I suggest free methods if you are just starting out.

I guess what you want to use is adwords, not adsense. Google adwords let you advertise your website in this way you can increase your revenue from affiliate programs but that depends upon the margin between your spending on adwords and your earning from your affiliate program. try to calculate ods before doing this
