Hi everyone,

I'm not a newbie but I'm not an expert either. I'm just a regular guy trying to make a little extra income.
I'm not into the "get rich quick" things - I don't believe in those. I'm very realistic and I KNOW it takes HARD work to make a living on the internet. I am willing to work hard, but internet is a business, so I'm willing to invest a bit as well. I don't want to invest A LOT, but I AM aware you need to invest in a business, so I am willing to buy traffic. The question is - where do I get REAL traffic, even if I have to pay a fee? I bought a few traffic packages before, but to my complete disappointment they turned out to be scams. They just make your site's traffic counters spin, but in the end, no results. I heard that many of them just send you the same visitors over and over again, so repeated orders from them is just a waste of time and money.
Is there anybody out there who used any traffic package that gave results? And PLEASE, no Google. That's WAY too expensive and ineffective, no matter what those "gurus" say.
Have a good day everyone and I hope I can get some really good pieces of advice from you guys.
Thank you.

I have not yet found a real way to buy traffic except thru ppc.... and I don't use that myself as I happen to believe in learning the ins and outs of getting organic traffic to your website BEFORE paying for traffic.

I am a huge fan of SBI as it teaches how to optimize your website for the search engines. I have a brand new site, only a few months ols and it is already at PR1 with a steady stream of traffic every day - highly targeted free traffic.

That's all I have to offer right now...

Have you tried writing related content and publishing through EZine, Squidoo and so on linking the articles to your site?

Like Mountainmom and Victoria eluded to, I would suggest learning SEO techniques - I wouldn't recommend those traffic "packages" you mentioned, which are frequently a waste of money.

dont waste your money to pay site that promise you ton of traffic because they are not real traffic. they are just bot. you can start by free method like:
- post comment to popular blog that related your niche
- keep posting in many popular forum (put your link in your signature)
- try to use classified ad like craiglist or usfreed

if you have a website you must do a little bit research about your site title. do more keyword research. i got my website rank in first page after i change my website title.. hope this will help you. try your best shot

I also tried buying traffic packages in the past. After a few tries, i found that they are not real visitors.

Then i use those free internet marketing like forum, articles, SEO my websites. Have an informative blog that are related to my opportunities. That is where my traffic is coming from.

It is slow, but quite steady.

You need to be very careful in buying traffic packages. In fact they are all scams. Avoid any thing that says "Get 1000 hits for just $19.95".

It would be scam. If you want quality traffic with your investments go for search engine marketing. Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, and MSN ad center. You would get some sort of targeted traffic.

Hope you got it.

Thanks
Sam

The question is - where do I get REAL traffic

The absolutely most important and successful way to attract traffic is to provide value to your website visitor. Help them find the information they have been looking for. Help them solve a problem. Entertain them.

Give them what they want (not what you want them to want--a mistake all of us make).

If you provide more information about your website, I'd be happy to provide some specific examples of the above principle.

Best Regards,

Mark

I have lost a ton on traffic packages and no longer use them.
I am using articles and squidoo. Also link exchange.

The best way to get traffic is to get it FREE !

Organic traffic is excellent. Add content to your pages and traffic will come.

How about joining forums like this?

Target your niche. This is the MOST important thing when trying to get traffic.

Regards

Gerry

I dont know if thats the "best way." You may have to be more specific like:

*Free is the best way to get traffic because you will learn your basics.
*Or free is the best because its very cheap.
*Or free is the best because it will give you a solid foundation on IM.

I say all this because i've withnessed a PPC campaign that brings insane traffic, is targeted, and converts like a mofo after just 2 days. (excuse my french).
Im talking about my bros ppc campaign. PPC is sick if you know how, and have a good budget. Otherwise, don't even waste your money. There are some guys who make a living off ppc alone, and they live pretty darn good.

SBI is site build it. Its basically allows you to do the following things:
1. Has tons of articles to determine which market you want to target.
2. Helps in determining the right domain name.
3. Has a interface to create a website - add pages, delete pages.
4. Has the ability to create a contact form with an autoresponder (one time).
5. Has the ability to send mass mailing to your subscribers.
6. Each page is generated so that it is keyword rich and targeted. One you type in content and it is not targeted to your keyword, it will warn you and make you edit say the title or H1 tag.

Downside
Costly
Every year renewal fee is there

Hi, I am new too and using SEO techniques I generate 150+ visits to my site every day. There is not a need to use PPC until later. Use Squidoo, blogs and articles. Twitter works great too.

I prefer to market all the free ways. I use articles, Ads, lenses, blogs, forums. The free ways are the best route to go I think. Just my thoughts on this matter

I prefer FREE ways too. I have created a document in which I write article posted on date, article name, article directory, number of hits. The number of hits is a running count.

Some articles I noticed had very few clicks - and learnt why by looking at the title , not catchy enough.

Next I break my article up into small points and share these in places like tipstr

Next I create widgets and share them.

Next I convert my article into a powerpoint show and share it. (The site I share it with has a PR of 7)

Next I make a software using FREE methods and share it.

I use article marketing as well. It does bring traffic. I have a blog I just threw up several months ago and I add content often and it gets more hits for some reason, even though I do not market it as often. So I think thats what the smart people here mean by adding content.

I also use squidoo and have a step by step program that I follow everytime I create a lens. These steps bring in the traffic and I follow them to the letter. I have added to these steps just by searching this forum, for example, 2 days ago I learned about dig and I have had about 16 traffic from that and I am not even sure exactly how that works. There are tons of ways to get traffic, like you said though it takes work.

I think an avenue with getting traffic to your site that is overlooked is doing it the old fashioned way. Word of mouth is in my opinion the best way to get traffic. Give away free samples or something of value on your site and word travels fat. Now of course once you get that traffic you have to have good content on your site.

another way to increase traffic is to partner up with someone getting good traffic already. Offer your service to their customers and see the results. I have done this with various businesses in my local area. For example we went to a Domino's Pizza and had them offer a chance to win a Carnival Cruise to anyone that spent $20 in their store on the day of the promotion. The results were phenomenal. Not only did his business for the day triple but we got well over 3000 leads that day. That was some of the best traffic we could get and it was very inexpensive.

Sorry, no you don't want to hear this but PPC traffic is the best traffic I've ever "bought". I have not had nearly as much success by buying bulk leads or even through solo ad postings. If you find something that works better than PPC then you need to package it and sell it because this is the best method around in my opinion.

I think the best way to drive traffic is the free way, lets face it if we bought every programme we came across we would never make any money.
