Well, I thought this was coming, and would love some feedback.

I can see a major shift in the rankings of one of my websites.

So, I ran an SEO on my own website and competition's at the same time.
Apparently, or I suspect the Social Bookmarking links are no longer sticking.

I will see what Market Samurai has to say about it.

I admit - I am a bit lost or befuddled as to what you are saying. Sorry! I guess I need more coffee this morning to feed my brain.

Hello Mountain Mom,

One of my websites had a lot more back links, and they are not being credited any longer....so I lost my ranking. (I will get it back) sooner or later.

Anyway, I checked some of the sites (I hate to say of my competitors)... all do a good amount of Social Bookmarking.

I do my bookmarking little at a time...not using anything like Bookmarking Demon.

One competitor site had over 150,000 back links and now is credited for less than 10,000, and the positioning for both of us has dramatically dropped.

I am wondering if Google has decided to dis-credit links from Social Bookmarking sites.

I think I will focus on writing more articles, they should offer better back links anyway.

Has anyone any information on this theory of mine..whether Google is not crediting for these Social Bookmarking back links? Victoria

Thanks Victoria - that does make sense. I never pursured that a whole lot as far as backlinking but maybe I should. I mean, I write articles and have links coming to my sites from various places but have never really studied backlinking - oh dear, now I am probably not making sense.

You are making sense Mountain Mom.

The more related, and hopefully higher quality links the better!

Have a wonderful day!
