Would love to hear views on free traffic exchanges as i personally think they are a waste of time because we are all there for the same reasons and that is to promote our website(s).

So why would we take on another opp if we have our own?

Traffic exchanges can be effective if you create a decent flash page. It helps if you are promoting a 'money making' opportunity and you give away something enticing on your page/ad.

The flash page should be brief, creative, and/or funny.

I've been told that in order for a traffic exchange to work best for you, don't "sell" your sales page, but instead either promote a splash page that entices a surfer to click on it and redirect to your web site, or create a squeeze page which essential gets a surfer to enter basic info like a name and email address so you can then build a list of potential customers. Either way you go, keep it very brief and to the point because most traffic exchanges allow barely 10-15 seconds to make your pitch before surfers click to the next ad, so grab their attention quickly!

the only issue with traffic exchange is that i need to surf other people's website for credit.

Which is very time consuming.

I find Traffic Exchanges work well when offering free information on traffic generation.

I get quite a few sign ups for my newsletter by offering free ebooks.
