Thanks wahnewbie. Good luck to you! May I ask, how many hours did it take you? And anyone else who wants to answer that as well. Also, is there any point during onboarding where an actual phone call will take place?

HI all,

I guess the PAL's dont work after midnight and the line is always busy then. I been doing my training late at night most of the time but I quit my other job Friday night so I am good to go with training full time. I finished the Onboarding training tonight and waiting for the next training to be assigned. Alot of the training has been a refresher course since I have been through the classroom training in the past. The classroom training was 3 weeks when I took it several years ago. I noticed that there has been a few changes to RIO since then but not much.

Good Luck everyone!

Hi All,

I am pretty new to the sight. I want information about West at Home. I applied a while back and recently received an email asking for a Work Aughorization Verification. I sent it by email ,using their web site. I havent heard anythng yet. I thought I would have heard something by now. My company shut down Dec 31st and I can't find anything I thought I'd hear from them by now. '

Does anyone have HR contact information for them? I'd appreciate all help.

Yoly

Does anyone know how long after you complete the Onboard training you start the Ace training? The way something read on my training page is I'm available to start scheduling hours, but the Pal said I had to finish the Ace training first. I've been waiting about 2 days now and haven't seen anything about the Ace training.

Well I finished the Onboarding last night and got the required Webinar in Sunday at 1pm and the ACE training showed up tonight (Sunday) in my training. You have to schedule hours in Spectrum to do the ACE training. I am going to call a PAL in the morning to make sure I am good to go. You have to do the Webinar before you can go any further. I dont think all the PAL's really know whats going on.

Yeah, I finally got my Ace training and went in and set up my scheduled training hours. Not really sure what this part is going to be like, and if anyone knows please let me know what I'm in for. I'm a little nervous, but hopefully everything will go okay. Yeah I done the Webinar Saturday, so I am done with that. Let me know what you find out when you call the Pal. And if you start before I do let me know how things go. Good luck Buckwheat. And Thank You.

Spoke with a PAL after waiting for 15 minutes and she was not very helpfull or friendly. She seem to be new as you could tell she was reading from a script plus I could barely hear her so I wasn't albe to get much from her as I was having to repeat myself....anyway going to get started with the training soon and see what happens

I had my first 1/2 hour of OJT and almost died. I had one call, the poor man just wanted something simple and I panicked. Then I couldnt get the number to connect to a pal in rio, and then I have no idea what happened if I hung up on him or he hung up, but by then I am crying, I put myself on not ready, next thing I know a PAL is calling the house because I have it in not ready. They did nothing to help, I was totally confused and needed a drink when I finished that 1/2 hour. I have only 1/2 hours scheduled for the next 4 days then only 1 hour. I know they want 20, but I need to get comfortable until I am sitting there for 3 hours at a time and trying to commit suicide. Anyone else at the begining of this work part? I think the worst thing from the training is that we were unable to use Rio and TRY these things first and play with fake accounts first. God I have another 1/2 hour tonight and I am sick over it. Believe it or not I have been an Executive Assistant handling all kinds of serious issues for over 20 years and never felt so stupid. By the way what is the difference between OJT and Production? You get no help either way?

Tina you're doing it right...baby steps buddy...it gets better by about your 5th or 6th shift...just fight through it, they don't expect you to be perfect, and get the names of any PAL who is rude to you, they are supposed to be here for us!!

Thanks so much joe, you are like my mini savior here. I did a 1/2 hour tonight and it went much better, although I still could not get a PAL when I needed them, first the Rio would not make the call, then when it did, I was on hold. I figured things out while waiting and did OK. I am keeping names as I have been treated crappy by a Pal in the past. Lately none rude, but also not helpful at all. Thanks for the help. I set up my schedule, so it is supposed to go active when I hit production. What is the difference with OJT and production any way? In either one you are supposed to be able to get a pal for help right? I mean other than the $$$. Thanks again.

You hit he nail on the head!!...just $$$$ you should be offered it after logging about 10-15 hours of OJT(heck im working as I type)...when you need to call a pal...go to the left space and type 91800644xxxx(you should know the rest, then hit "c" about 1 inch to the right, that should connect you, good luck, I was on hold for 35!!!!!!minutes trying to get a credit applied to a cx account...whatever you do, DONT let the cx hang up before ALL credits are applied....just a warning unles you need to lose 10 pounds of reaer-end...LOL...GL, my yahoo im is joencatx if ya need me...

Hi, Joeboxer

You seem to be the go to guy when it come to Directv on this forum. I had my first shift tonight, I was crazy enough to schedule 4pm to 8pm instead of the 30 minutes shift.

Anyway, the RIO and OMS systems went down 4 times, which caused be to disconnect with 4 customers. I called a PAL and Tech support but was unable to get in touch with either. Has this ever happened to you?

I forgot to ask....When I pull down the transfer box I can never find Technical Support, is there another way to transfer customers to that department?
I was so nervous that I ended up transfering the customer to BGI...Please tell me that it's going to get better

Hi, Tina

The exact thing happened to me today. I was so close to hiting the resingnation link, but at the last minute I changed my mind.

I wish we were able to go into RIO during training, I would have been better prepared, but according to the PALS it wasn't necessary....Yeah right!

quick answers....tech support...hit "w", when box comes up, hit the "right arrow button" another list comes up, almost to the bottom is tech support, hit that then on the far right hit "ok"...instant transfer...getting in touch with a pal can take upwards of 30 minutes, stay on hold til yuo get them or figure it out!!!, teh only way to get them to staff-up to help us properly is to show their manager with hold times that there is not enough of them...Good Luck Guys , from your "un-offical PAL ?"

Joe
