Cathande,

The DNC procedure for Verafast isn't difficult to remember. Just make sure that you check the box labeled DNC, that's most important. Then also code the call (I think it's 15M), but you don't have to remember what code number it is cuz it will also say DNC. Good luck!

Thanks! I've desperately been wanting to work from home for years. But I am my sole support so I have to make at least enough to live on. Since moving back here the job market is pretty bad, so thought now was as good a time as ever since I do need some income coming in pretty quickly. Finally got my printer problem solved thank goodness.

WHAT pal told you this? It sure wasn't a dr pal. I know, because I am one. It isn't that way for DR, and we understand (the whole office) that it is across the board for West... At least we haven't been told different. WAH are employees, not contractors. You are paid by the minute, or by the hour, whichever is greater.

Wyldkat,

I understand the pay rate (paid by the min/or hr whichever is greater. but we were not referring to that the question was when we place someone on hold the pay per min on our ade screen stops until we take the cust off hold then the pay per min cont....anyway seems like there was a confusion in communication nevermind..I do have another question since, you are a dr pal would you know if wst will offer any other skills soon or is wst in freezing mode?

Hi Steph,

I like VM, but I've only done 2 shifts so far. The per contact rate isn't great, especially since I'm new and my calls probably take way longer than necessary. How is it working for you?

I was scheduled for an hour shift this afternoon, and I was having awful technical problems. I had trouble logging into gateway, I couldn't get seibel to load and the ade was freaking out on me. I took 1 call and couldn't get seibel to work at all. I went to chat for help and was given instructions which I followed, then decided to restart my computer and it crashed! I couldn't get it to come on or anything. Hopefully my husband can figure out what's going on with it. I did notice someone else on chat with a crashed computer, I wonder if many people have had technical issues. Have you had any problems?

I received a call from Janet at Verafast while I was out. She gave my VF# & password & said she was emailing me with further instructions with her number & extension. I never got the email. I tried emailing to the Mary email address, but heard nothing back. So I emailed Mary Diffenbacher directly & explained what happened. I still have heard nothing back. Do you have any idea how I should contact anyone? I don't have a clue how to proceed with no other info. I just went into the contact board & posted an email there. Maybe I'll hear back now. Thanks.

I'm not sure, Janet was not my contact at Verafast, my questions were always answered quickly. Did you check your bulk or spam folder? Many of the emails I received went directly to that folder for some reason. Also, since you have your # and password you can log into the website and read info, there might be another area with contact information on there. I hope it works out for you. Keep me posted.

I don't know if I like it or not. The first day I worked it it was 1.00 a contact and I did 18 calls, that's good but today I had one call that lasted 52 minutes and I was at .90 a call so that was horrible. This particular call was a cx with 3 phones with multiple issues on each phone, 2 investigations started and numerous calls to PALS because there were problems with web browsing that I wasn't sure of the answers. Ruined my day for sure. I am AYS and I am upset that I am receiving so many activation calls which take 10-15 minutes a call. So far this week I am only averaging 7.00 an hour as compared to 11.00-12.00 that I did before. It sucks!

I know what you are talking about, today it took me 40 minutes before I finally got ADE and Siebel up and running at the same time. Siebel was so slow and then ADE keep ticking on my wrap time after I had clicked on log call. It is really disappointing when we are being paid .90 a contact.

marcimc,

I really like the vm line, but I'll be so glad when I get more calls under my belt and know more about it. I had so many different problems yesterday I had to call a pal, and there are several things she told me to do, one of which was to run the assist, which I thought was just a one time thing. OOPS! I hope my next shift runs more smoothly. I'm looking forward to just concentrating on calls instead of whether my applications will work correctly.

As far as the per contact rate goes, I'm not sure if I'll ever make more than min wage. I'm thankful to have the min wage rate no matter what, which is actually a pretty decent wage here, but the very first shift I worked was a 20 cent a min rate, and I made $10 an hour. So I can see that the change is really substantial.

Cathande,

Have you heard from Verafast? They do training on Wednesdays, so hopefully you'll have everything ready before then to get started.

Thanks! I finally did get their emails by giving them another email address. Not quite sure why they were being bounced as spam from the original account. I know I'm nervous about everything, but was the test calling a big deal? I am supposed to do that on Wed., I think. Thanks again for your concern.

Don't worry, you'll do fine. I was really nervous, too. If at all possible you should do the webinar, it will make you feel more comfortable with the application. The test calling is easy, just be cheerful and you'll do really well.

I know I'm really new & probably a little dense with all of this, but is the webinar something they set up for you? I haven't heard back since completing the First Contact Review & download of software. I guess with the holiday I probably won't hear until tomorrow. I can't really go any further than login since I'm new to the system. I really can't tell you how much I appreciate your help.

Danielle19755,

I don't think that WST has any contract affiliated with Travel Companies but I do know that Arise has Carnival and I think another contract with them. However, Arise is costly to get in and there is a admission process you need to pass along with paying to become an independent contractor if you could invest money it would be worthwhile because there contracts usually pay high min per rate and high hr pay. www.arise.com

Well, I'm not having a good day today. I won't be making min wage but I think they have to pay me that anyway. My calls have been mostly activations which take longer and the pay rate is .90 a call, which isn't good today. Have you are anyone else had any problems this week with the pay detail report? My hours for sat have not shown up & it appears like I didn't work and I worked 12 hours so I am very disappointed if I don't get paid for that and I don't know who to contact about it. Any help I would appreciate

The hours will show up, you have to allow 48 hours. This usually happens on the weekends but if they do not show up by Wed. I would go to our empl website and go to faq write in search area payroll or human resources. You can also contact a pal. As far as the pay per contact. I am not too sure of that either.

I may have to put off my Verafast training/test calling this week anyway. I'm having printer problems again. I emailed Janet to let her know that I couldn't print any of my packets out, so I wasn't sure if I could do the calling without it. I haven't heard back yet. Do you think I could manage without hard copies to go by? I really appreciate all of your advice & support. I do want this to work out, & I'm supposed to start with Westat on the 2nd.

Cathande,

The webinar for Verafast is set up for you. It will be a certain date and time, mine was on a Wednesday morning. You sign in to a conferencing site online and call a number. It's just like a conference call but you can see the slides they are running on your computer screen.

As far as printing goes, the only thing I liked to keep with me consistently was a copy of the script. I think I referred to a couple papers the first couple days, but most everything you need is right there on the screen for you, the script, even the call logging is easy, it tells you exactly what each code means, you don't have to memorize it or anything. You'll feel better once you've made a couple calls. Did you start today or did you have to postpone?

Steph,

How is vm going for you? I feel like I keep making stupid mistakes, but at least I'm learning from them. With the email they sent out today it doesn't look like they'll change back to the per minute rate any time soon. What do you think?

Regarding the other thing we spoke about, how is it going for you? Were you able to get it straightened out? Let me know if I can do anything to help.

I had to postpone. Janet said I would need all of my packets printed to be able to make the test calls. I only got one page printed before my problems began. I'm supposed to start with Westat the 2nd anyway. And I kind of wanted to get them started first since I understand Verafast wants to lock in certain times. I hope I can work the 2 around each other. It's almost like some evil genie is at work anyway. I keep missing emails from both co. I have my spam filter set to deliver to my inbox & I'm still not getting their emails. It's almost like something is trying it's best to prevent this from happening. Working is not a choice for me, so it's pretty critical that I get this going. Anyway, thanks for all of your support.
