Hi all,
I purchased profit lance and am thinking about getting into Wealthy Affiliate soon, but i came across this article and it kinda concerned me about the future of affiliate marketing.
It states:
There has been a lot of talk in affiliate circles lately about Google slapping affiliates. It has become pretty clear in the last year that Google does not like affiliates and intends to be a "super affiliate" itself. It is also clear that Google will continue to take money from the big spenders - the likes of uSwitch, MoneySupermarket, GoCompare - even if they are just super affiliates themselves. Google does not reserve any love for the little affiliates, particularly in Adwords.

The full article is here

http://befused.com/affiliate-marketing/future

I dont want to start any negativity but was hoping i could get some feedback about this.

Thanks Kosta

This article was written back in March, and affiliates are still doing well on Google. Of course, you have to know how to play Google's game, so to speak, and play by their rules. Otherwise, you'll get slapped pretty hard, but Google may very well pat you on the back if you do things right...

Hi Kosta,

I would say that there are many opinions out there, and would certainly not allow one article to discourage you.

When Google makes major changes, the trained affiliates seem to acclimate very well.

Often these changes can work in our favor.

Same situation with eBay. I often think they want the small sellers to fade out.
They make changes, at random it seems, especially this past year, yet there are those who capitalize on these very issues.

How's it going with Profit Lance?
I have never been to the site.

Cheers,
Victoria

Thanks getagrip and Victoria for your replies.
I guess with anything else we will have to evolve if Google slaps us.
Victoria I am doing the 30 day challenge also and i find it for more easier for newbies like myself than Profit Lance. Profit Lance seems to have alot of valuable info but is very disjointed and all over the place. I am looking into WA for the future after i finish with the 30 day challenge.

Good advice here - I do Ebay as well as affiliate marketing and for once the last changes that Ebay made were in my favor so some changes are good.

Hi Gussyboy,

I don't know what the article says, but don't worry about going into affiliate marketing.

The no-cost entry point, free advertising and exposure for the owners of affiliate products, and lucrativeness for affiliates
is far too valuable for the industry to tank in the near future and will probably remain healthy for years.

I can't think of a better set up.

Edit for PS.

PS. Gussyboy: Think you can avoid posting duplicate titles with slight spins in the post body in the future? Thanx.

My opinion on this is...

No matter what are the changes to the current state of affiliate marketing and search engines, affiliates will always find a new way to go about these things.

There are simply too many ways to earn money online, for us to be regarded as "handicaped".

Hi Kosta,

Both training you will have with Wealthy Affiliate and the Thirty Day Challenge will compliment each other beautifully.

I plan to take TDC every year.
This was my first.
The Wordpress Direct Blog has worked very well for me, way beyond my modest expectations.

mountainmom5,
That's great news that eBay's changes were in your favor.
Their changes have not been in my favor so far, but I am fine with it since my goal is beyond eBay, at least for now.

I am a vintage bookseller, and have had so much fun there.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Victoria

I'm not sure it's quite correct to say that Google wants to be a "super affiliate". It seems that Google wants to try its hand at being an affiliate network like Clickbank or Commission Junction. Google has bought out the affiliate network "Performics" and changed the name to "Google Affiliate Network". I was a member of Performics, so now I'm an affiliate for Google! I would think, therefore, that Google would like me to actually succeed as an online affiliate - at least in THEIR network.

from what I have learned inthe past few days from maverick money maker is that google has quite a few things hidden when it comes to making an advertising campaign. we have learned quite a bit about how to pay VERY little for targeted clicks instead of playing the "get to the top of the page" game. I'm honestly amazed because there are things pointed out to me that I never even saw before on goole! its like they put them in certain places intentionally so the average joe doesn't KNOW that option is there!

I have read this before...

I dont believe it would be in google's interest to become a super affiliate, I can't see how it would work. Also the amount of cash that is spent on google adwords from affiliate is unreal!!! They would lose a lot of their adwords market!!!!!

about 20% in my opinion

I've just run into a little frustration. I applied to join the Google Affiliate network and they slapped me down without comment.

Made me feel like I was running a porn site or something...

Has anyone sucessfully been able to join the Google affiliate network?

inquiring minds would like to know.

No Matter what Google does, there is always a place on the INTERNET you can sell your wares. I have at least 50 affiliate marketing sites listed on my site and eight search sites... Google isn't the only game in town...neither is clickbank...

Best Regards,
-Dennis

here's the secret to get into the Google affiliate system.

1. they are going to slap you down without comment.

2. you need to take on the attitude that you are a successful affiliate marketeer and are completely insulted by their arbitrary refusal to let you join their inner circle. Questions like discrimination etc help ge their intrest.

Persistance will get you into the "club"
