Wow - I don't have TIME for games - but I guess some folks do....LOL
Thats interesting though... because it would drive me batty if I knew my kids were online for hours and hours playing games...

I went through my online gaming addiction phase in the late 1990's. It lasted a full 18 months. That was just after I launched my first commercial website.
I had very little time to do anything else. Sometimes I would play for 12 hours straight.
I'd wake up early in the morning, play an online game for a few hours, enter customer orders into my database, play a game for a few hours, pack up the orders, play the game for a couple more hours, ship the orders, eat supper, hang out with the wife and cats for a little while, play the game for a few hours, and go to bed.
It was like that for 18 full months. One day my wife threw a fit and that day I quit online gaming for good :D
I still play solo games against the computer every week, but I don't allow myself to spend much time doing it. I admit it, I've been addicted to video games since the 1970's and will remain addicted until I leave this world. I wouldn't trade it for anything :)
Is anyone else hopelessly addicted to video games?

When the Sims first came out, I'd play that allll day... but only during long school breaks (like Spring Break).
Then there was a Facebook summer I had where I was working a really boring summer job during the day and would get on Facebook evenings to reconnect and make up for the time I couldn't text or speak to friends. Well, at least, "reconnecting" was my justification for being on for so long.
And there were quite a few months in the 90s (back when AOL charged by the minute I think it was - like how cell phone companies do it) when I got scolded for going waaayyyyy over time limits. There were always personal justifications for spending so much time online then too.
So yeah, I understand the addiction. Goodness, I even spend more time in forums than I intend to some days! So it's not just about video games and social networking sites (which explains why texting is treated there too).
The interaction and connectedness is really what fuels it. And that's why reading that the person had tacked "but does it have free wifi?" onto the tail end of the tweet had given me a chuckle.
