Just consider this: Would you appreciate a flyer on your windshield?

My husband and I were told to do this with an MLM company and we got kicked out of parking lots. Many people were annoyed. The one person who did phone and joined was not what we would consider a good quality prospect. A nice guy but not very motivated. We soon dropped out of that MLM company.

Putting flyers on cars is sneaky. We realized that we always need to be honest and above board with all that we do in our business.

Instead of paying someone to pass out flyers, I have started getting postcards made up, USPS charges .28 cents per postcard, I buy mailing lists online with no phone #'s (which are cheaper) and I also make sure they are targeted and have a radius of 30 miles from my business. It works well, the ROI is great too, then of course make sure the card has your website, Twitter, facebook info etc.

Passing out flyers yourself is a bad idea to me personally. Your time is valuable and could be spent doing more important things for your business. When I first started out one of my tendencies was to try and do everything myself so that I could save a buck. Then I figured out that leveraging the systems that are already out there works much better. Of course, you need some money. Not tons, but some.

Planning and targeting the people you want to reach is highly important. Think about it. What are you offering, how much does it cost and who would be most likely to need or want it. Then more importantly, who can afford it or who has the money to spend.

Next, if you want to do flyers go for it. Find a professional service that will do this for you(they are out there) and even better yet, find one that will be effective. What I mean is a service that explains what works best as far as design, layout, color schemes, etc. Heck I was just looking into one that offers flyers but admits that door hangers work better and they explain why.

There are flyer services that will do most if not all of this.

Try email marketing as well. Does your site have a squeeze page?Try that too.

From what I'm reading everyone has a different take on different marketing, that's why you have to test everything, I would do business cards, flyers and post card, and see which one get the most responds. Start small say about 100 of each and the one that produce the best result then that's where you want to put your money in.

I've never had success with flyers. They all seem to go in the trash can. However, people that I have met and received a business card from me do see some responses.

One person even called me up after 8 months.

bhuff85:
Flyer marketing can be effective if you know what you're doing.

Using flyers to promote business is effective, but make sure that it is also effective for those people who are interested in your sports business.. And make sure you have a knowledge of what you are doing...

Good day.

Hi!
One idea that I was told about but haven't tried yet is:
Instead of using business cards, get a pack of 3 x 5 index cards. When you are out talking to people and the opportunity presents itself to talk about your business, hand the person an index card and pen. Give them your information: name, phone #, e-mail address,a dn website. Have them write it down. They will remember it better.

The fliers will surely contribute towards awareness about your website-you just need to be consistent. Also keep track of where you post your fliers. Pull tabs are a good idea also as you can tell if your flier is attracting attention. People won't pull those tabs for the fun of it. Please update in the future on how it goes.

When you're marketing the sniper approach is better than the shotgun approach. Don't just pray and spray to try and saturate the market with your flyers - you'll have as much frustration and antipathy as you will lead generation. Rather look for people who are already interested. Offer free classes at the local community center on your topic and then give the attendees flyers.

If you plan on using flyers here are a few things to consider in order to increase your ROI.

First do your homework.
Drive around your city and find bus stops, public message boards (Kroger tends to have them) gas stations and telephone poles that see a lot of traffic. I have found that being able to post a flyer in a spot with high traffic tends to have better results than just passing them out. It's more bang for your buck. You are almost guaranteed at least one response per flyer this way where as if you randomly pass out 500 flyers you might only have 10 people respond.

Second, Get a QR code.
In this day and age almost everyone has a smart phone that can read bar codes. You can find plenty of places online that will turn your affiliate links into a QR code for free. Then when someone comes along with a smart phone, they scan the code and are taken to your site.

Business cards are not a bad idea either. Print some up with your name, link, even a QR code. Use your companies official logo to. Make sure to approve your design with the company. Many MLMs have business cards made up that you can get from them already.

You leave business cards at the gas pump, with a tip at a restaurant.. One of my favorite things to do is personally hand them out. Get creative on how to approach people. If your MLM deals with a product everyone has you can usually find an in. Then work into talking about how your making money buy using or selling (whatever you do) that product. Then pull out your business card!! I like to keep a pen on me and sign the back. It gives a personal touch. And what is network marketing if not personal?

Like with my company we do texting. So for an in I usually start with
"What phone is that?" or "Do you have an unlimited texting plan?"
See what I mean? Get creative and use your surroundings to your advantage when approaching people and handing out your business cards. There is always a conversation waiting to happen when your out and about. Just work your way in.

Two things happen this way,
1. You make a new friend.
2. You potentially make a new business partner.

Hope that was helpful.

Sean.

Post it notes are way better than flyers. Put them on the side windows so people must rip them off before getting in car. I think door hangers are best and hiring a firm to do it is in your best interest.

When you hand out flyers to people on the go they usually end up on the ground, or stuffed in the bottom of pocketbooks.

cars work out less as far as i heard from other forum members,, but its worth to try out and conclude using results.. For me distributing flyers in malls work out as you are targeting buyers and shoppers
