It is not about how much traffic you get. It is about the type of traffic you get.

The object is to attract traffic that wants to by from you rather than traffic that you need to work hard to sell something to.

How do we do that?

We give them something of value. Usually in the form of a a free report.

The key is to make sure the info you give them is of high, usefull value, not just rehashed junk.

Give them good valuable info, and they will come to trust you and think of you more as an adviser than a salesman and actually want to buy something from you.

Spot on & that's why having the correct keywords is vital, so that if you get to page one for any of your keywords then, the organic traffic you've targeted is niche related & genuinely interested in what you have to offer.

This whole business is a game of chess & it's all about making the right moves & staying in the game.

When you're in Network Marketing for awhile, you'll find out like the rest of us that there are more opportunities outside of our "warm market". Remember "a prophet is never welcome in their own home". What's important is to stick with it and find other ways to market your business. If you follow the leader and do what others before you have done, there is no re-invention of the wheel. If you are on Twitter or Facebook, you can find the Guru's and listen to what they have to say. There are many options. When you find the ones you like, get good at it and you'll build the momentum you are looking for.

All the best, Ginger Hogue

Just joined the forum and, being a dog lover, this thread appealed to me! But, I tried clicking on the link, and it says the webpage is not available? Are you still working on your pet products? I was going to chime in, not with much new -- I think the posters above did an excellent job answering your questions -- but more just saying what works for me.

I highly recommend setting up a blog -- this can be either a domain name that you own, or you can set up a free blog (blogger, wordpress, or one of many other options). Then, put a lot of valuable content on the site that doesn't necessarily sell your particular product, but rather why a product such as yours is better than what can be purchased elsewhere. You really want to focus on the BENEFITS not features. (In other words, the happy, healthy pet, not a bottle with "X" number of tablets.)

Then I would write articles (they can be tweaked versions of what you placed on your blog, or completely new and fresh articles) to post in the major article directories. My favorites are ezinearticles.com (I get a lot of click-throughs and republishes on my articles there) or articlesbase.com.

I agree with the folks who have said it isn't the number of visitors as much as the quality of visitors. You can try to cheat and get massive amounts of untargeted traffic, but in the long run, it will actually hurt your website. Analytics will show that you have a lot of people clicking on your site, staying for only a few seconds and then leaving. This makes it look as though your site isn't worth looking at.

Instead, if you drive targeted traffic to your site through articles, the people who click through will actually be interested in your content and stick around.

Hope this helps!

I agree with Ginger here. There really is no need to reinvent the wheel, but you do have to be careful who you take advice from. If your sponsor has not achieved the things that you want to achieve, or isnt building their business in the way that you believe is best for you then you may need to look elsewhere for a coach or mentor. There is no need to jump ship and start a new business because there are a lot of generic training programmes out there that you can use to build your business. Just be willing to do your research and find the system that matches your personal strengths.

You are employing only traditional marketing techniques. While I agree that with a localized product such as yours it is easier to market locally, it is not the only place to market to.

Use online techniques more. Beginning with your already existing clients base, send out an email once or twice a week to keep the product alive in their minds. Ask them to let their neighbors and friends know what a great product they use.

Then do real internet marketing. Create a squeeze page and promote it thoroughly through article marketing and all the other mainly free techniques. The objective is to build an even greater list.

Keep in mind that your product is the best. You might even want to market it to the white house!

Your company site will not get any traffic and you will need an endless supply of prospect daily to stay alive in business. I've been in NWM for several years and this is what I've done. I built a website with Site Build It and linked my company website with in my site. My site is just a few months old and I recieved over 10,000 targeted visitors to my site. This is a small number compared to other SBI owners but it supplies me with prospects daily. I hope this helps

I frequent several forms and I have noticed that no one seems to recommend using safelists and traffic sites.

It seems like it could be an effective way to market to like minded people. I have been using them for several weeks and am finding that it is beginning to work for me.

The thing that has been working for me is along with writing a catchy subject line I also keep my emails very short. I was writing long ones at first but was not getting good response.

Sense I have been writing short emails I have been getting new sign ups.

I like this type of marketing because it is easy. It is a little time consuming but very easy.

I would like to hear the opinion of long time marketers on this.

Thank you,

Success to us all!

I am a newbie myself and i understand exactly how you feel. Until i found this forum i was on the verge of giving up. I think you should:-

1. Sift through the marketing methods you have tried so far and choose the ones that have been effective so far. If none, pick some from this forum.

2. Go with those and be consistent with them, if for example one of them is posting on forums, do that religiously and contribute on the forums. I think this should be done for 3-6 months.

All the tools and magic tricks that you get promised on the internet can be overwhelming. Pick out the tools you are comfortable working with, workout on a strategy and implement it consistently.

Good luck and do update us on your success!!!

I think article marketing would be your best bet right now. Start a targeted campaign by picking specific subjects and writing "tip" articles.

The key here is to really provide great content. don't be afraid to give too much information. You seem to be very knowledgeable about your niche.

Share that knowledege and most importantly, give people tips in your articles that they can implement right away after reading.

I am going to amend my previous post because I too was like you...called everyone in my warm market and had no one else to contact. I started marketing online and while I think it's necessary in today's competitive market, it's takes time to get an online presence.

When I started following a professional network marketer, I was taught that my warm market is still alive and well. I learned what to say and got no rejection - which is the main reason people don't like talking to their friends and family. It's been amazing!

Both types of marketing - online and off take a certain set of skills and when you master those skills you can take your business to the next level.

You know, I've always liked the saying that "dogs have masters but cats have staff." Cats just know they're in charge. Maybe your details about understanding cat behavior will really let the cat out of the bag (so to speak) and people-cat relationships can be put on a much more even footing.

Hi Emma,

This happens to almost everyone in NWM. Your name list is gone. You need to use the power of the internet to attract ongoing free and fresh leads to you. No one will find you with you company duplicate site. If you build your own website that links to your company site, your in Business. Now people can find you with all the major search engines and opt in to your web pages for fresh and free leads and sales. Check out Site Build It.

Sometimes -- we need to step back and forget about ourselves

and ask: HOW CAN I TRULY SERVE PEOPLE?

If we all look within ourselves... we have a lot to give.

I want to thank emma for asking such a great question. The thing for me was I had no warm market to start with... so I have no downline and that scared me. I started out by offering my business to people who were looking for work from home opportunities on yahoo answers. They banned me for spamming... not sure why though. I never realised answering a question asked with a relevant answer would be classed as spam but there you go.

The point is but just be careful it seems the idea of spam is different for each web-page person. So make sure that before you go posting you read very carefully what you can and cannot say.

Here are two effective ways I use to create big downlines and to create a lot of leads.

I use a call center to call leads for me. They qualify them or disqualify them based on my parameters. If they are qualified they then three way me on the line where I interview them and get them the information they need. They think I am a big shot as I have a call center working for me so my conversions are very high.

Secondly I use tools that allow me to harvest laser targeted leads for my business. After I harvest that data I can either voice broadcast or email them my information. It is a reverse marketing approach that if used correctly can make you a mint. Lead Net pro is my tool of choice. Simple to use and highly effective.
