I just noticed that when I go to my URL hxxp://whyamifat.info the affiliate link is someone esle's, not the one I placed on the forward.

1) How do they do that?

2) How do I remove it (the info at my host is correct)

3) How do I prevent it in the future?

Thank you and I hope this info will protect others as well.

Hi Jadimon,

I'm glad you managed to resolve the hijacking of your hop link.
That sort of thing can leave you with a heavy heart, not to mention
a hole in your pocket. So, what was the matter?

Hi Jadimon,

Sorry that happened to you.

Think you might come back and explain what you did to resolve the issue so that others might benefit from your wisdom and experience?

Thanx,

~Newbie Shield~

Hi Jadimon,

Yep, I've had it happen to me before... very common with the internet marketing niche. All someone has to do is swap out your Clickbank ID and put their own in its place.

You need to use an affiliate link cloaker, preferably one that says it works with Clickbank. There are some free ones out there which are pretty basic.

I use this one that my friend John sells called Renegade Cloaker. Here's a direct non-affiliate link: http://renegadecloaker.com/

It's $7 and gives you a bunch of features. I like the fact that Renegade cloaks any type of link, you can name it whatever you want, and it gives you a center location to set up and track all of your affiliate links from.

Hope that helps,

Mike
