What is the one thing you would teach about network marketing? Seriously everyone has tried it but what little bugget of wisdom would you pass on to someone if you could only tell them ONE thing and only one thing about the home based business arena????

haha - that's good. And so true.

May I add that it's a lot of work. lol

Actually, even though it's work... it's mostly head work, so make sure you get some exercise in somewhere.

It is a lot of work. However, mountainmom5 is correct...its a lot of head work. You have to think outside of the box. As far as the hype? Well you can believe or not. Personally I chose to believe the hype and I didn't quit until I had that kind of success. What people have to realize is it takes TIME.

The most important thing I could teach anyone in MLM or considering it is to BUILD A LIST.

You build a list and then you market to that list. You can market anything you want...your business oppurtunity, your product, or even affiliate products.

This is what I do. I teach people how to build their own lists and build a relationship with the people on that list. Once again, it is a business so please don't expect results right a way. It takes time!

MLM is a 'game' of marketing. What you do consistently to get a viable opportunity in front of people looking for a home business opportunity will dictate your success.

It's just like big business. You have to get your product/service/opportunity in front of the right audience consistently if you plan to succeed.

Most don't plan their marketing, so they can't remotely succeed.

So the bottom line is get and apply a marketing game plan for success.

The one thing that I would teach is to do what your sponsor tells you to do and to never give up no matter what.

Be creative in your marketing plans. Who are you going to market to, where are you going to market, and how are you going to market it?? And yes it takes hard work you have to do it everyday. If you had a brick and motar business you would have to "show up everyday to unlock the doors" and be there the hours you said you would be so this isn't much different. ( Well maybe the hours are a little more flexible) but not the amount of time you put into doing the business.

You need to learn that prospecting is just sifting through people. Lots of people. Failure is a verb not a noun.

Although I don't have much experience with network marketing, the success principle I believe is pretty much the same as in all businesses. Focus on the doing, and forget about the results.

Most top leaders in network marketing never seem to stop doing what they should be doing - Talk about their opportunity to as many people as they can. They don't bother about the "NO"s. They just keep talking. I believe that's the no.1 reason for their success. An ordinary person would talk to 20 people and if all of them said NO, he/she would feel humiliated and probably quit. Whereas a leader would keep going with bothering much about the "NO"s.

Success is basically about how relentlessly you keep doing what you should be doing, without worrying about the results.

Ironically, according to Bhagvad Gita, one of the foremost spiritual literature, this is the mantra for peace, happiness and liberation as well - Focus on the doing. Not on the results.

That is very true, as I newbie I started mlm in the past and felt very down for taking no. Now I am so excited about the opportunity I am able to talk to anyone, and if they say NO, it is their loss. Although I would respect that and will not hassle them again, the funny thing they seem to be asking me how is your business doing?
I sometimes wonder is it genuine question or are they waiting for me to fail!

Unfortunately, most people are waiting for you to fail so that they can justify why they didn't get involved. If you are succeeding then they will feel like a looser for not joining.

What I would teach... I know that you have to be patient but, you must continually take action. You can NOT be "N.A.T.O." ... No Action, Talk Only! I love that acronym! Lol!

Make a commitment to your business to be here 24 months from now. So many people get into this business and quit 3 months later because they are not making $20k a month. Just as with a brick and mortar business or any business for that matter, it takes time. I am sure if you just invested $150k in a Subway that you would not be thinking about quitting 3 months later because you have yet to turn a profit. Treat your home business like a real business and you will surprise yourself.

I think that too, I try to give them the benefit of the doubt but they have this grin when they ask.
I am excited it is early day but so far is been good, will I guess offline is faster to get results than online.

Thank you, well said. Just because we can do this from home a lot of people consider it as easy money. In fact it is harder than my 9-5 jobs. I am constantly working from the minute I wake up. Either thinking of idea to write, or an idea to market my business or SEO which takes forever. Learning and trying to help if I can.

While I certainly would'nt disrespect your sponsor, most sponsors/upline don't know how to succeed in network marketing. There's a reason why 95% of people in this business fail. That reason is they do what their sponsor tells them to do. In the age of the internet, why in the world would you still use old school tactics such as cold calling leads lists, making a list of 100 people etc.

Sure you could get a few people to sign up this way, but what happens to them when they CAN'T duplicate your minor success? They quit/drop out.

You must be a Leader. An Alpha! Your time is valuable! Why use it calling 200-300 people per day when you could be using it to have those same people calling you? You should use it by attracting people to you instead of you going out and chasing people around. You need to zig when everyone else zags.

You have to make yourself stand out. You need to be willing to give without want, before you can get. It's this kind of thinking that attracts people to you.

Now if you're in network marketing as a hobby, and happy making just a couple hundred dollars a month just keep on doing what you're doing. However, if you want run and operate your own BUSINESS you need to implement these strategies.

The most important thing would be commitment - hands down!

Success doesn't just fall on your lap, you've got to work towards your goal and stay committed the entire way.

Network Marketing can be a great way to start earning cash work at home on the internet quickly. Network Marketing is a system where a business chooses to have its marketing conducted through people like you and I, rather than traditional methods of marketing. We can take the Network Marketing opportunity as far as you want to. We also get a home business model that has already been proven, and gives us a system which works straightaway.

1. You are a leader
You need to be confident of yourself, and know that you have a good product, and company, as well as the ability to help people be a success.

2. You MUST be a learner
If you aren't learing you're dying. You can't be a know it all, and you must be ready to learn.

3. It's not going to be over night.
You can't join a buisness, and then get a check in a week.. it's happened but may of these people are usually already established in a different company.
