Also curioius about that rip-off report. I work for West and have been paid with no problem at all. I would be curious to read that report if i could locate it. West has been good for me so far. I work Direct response and the diversity is great. I get all kinds of calls, not just selling, but also reporting blackouts, taking donations, processing requests for information for insurance or doing pre-qual on loans. It really is amazing when you think the of technology that allows for this to happen right in my home office. Good luck to all the new hires with West. There is a ton of knowledge available to you on the site. The index of support topics is i think pretty thorough. And so far the pals have been very helpful. And once you start taking calls the knowledge data base is helpful and easy to use.

I just completed my webinar with West.....I will be working in Pro Flowers....anyone else with Pro?? Also, doesn't anyone know why you can't view the training materials unless your working?? You can only view the training materials while your on scheduled hours..I asked and they told me bcz their required to pay you for opening the training module.....it doesn't make sense to me....you would think they would want you to get all the training and information as possible.......any thoughts???

I saw your post on the Work at Home Forum with the questions on the legitimacy of Arise and the fees they charge to get started working through them.
I have worked full time now through Arise since July of 2007. I might have been wary too if my mom hadn't met a lady who was a single mom that worked full time through Arise and was supporting her family on it.
I work full time through them, approximately 60-65 hours a week at approximately $14 an hour average. I am in complete charge of my own schedule (which I select in 1/2 hour increments myself on their system) and also choose which of their client companies I want to train with and work for.
Yes, there are investment costs to getting started, but I made that all back the first week and now work completely at home in my pj's. It is great! Let me know if you need additional info.

I haven't heard of Arise. I just looked it up and it looks like you can put in the schedule that you are available. Will they reject me if I don't put in that I want to work weekends? I mean, some weekends, fine, but not all weekends. Any suggestions?

Also, is this telecommunications and is any shift better than another?

Thank you for the information!

Hello everyone, New here. I currently work for West. I wanted to say that I too have never had a problem with West as long as I have worked for them. I work Direct Response. Any problems I ever had with (nothing serious) has always been addressed and promptly resolved. I do care to say that I do work many, many hours. But it is a choice that I make. I am separated, no child support, alot of kids w/ 2 in college (1 in Kindergarten!) and a few in between! And it works out great for me. I get tired of reading the rip off reports. Because I have never seen "that" side of West. I think maybe you get what you give.

By the way, to those of you who failed your tests and cannot retake for 6 months... thats the skill only, not the job. I have referred friends that have failed direct response and now productively for HSN and Pro Flowers. Neither that I ever hope to cross train for! Good luck to all! Have a Positive Day!

Seems that everyone here is looking to work from home with this one company that appears to be customer service oriented. If you are that good with people maybe you should take a look at my company and work for yourselves and get the tax writeoff from owning your own business and working from home. Check out my links and I would love to speak with you if you find it interesting.

II saw your post with the questions you have on Arise. I work full time through them earning approx. $14 an hour. There is a lot of work available to do from home, mostly answering the phone and working on the computer - customer service and sales - and some email and chat types of work also. Let me know if you want additional details. You can read about it some at arise.com
There is some start up cost but it is worth it. I earned my investment back the first week and am now earning between $3000-3500 per month working from home. It is not a scam or anything fly by night, but a reputable company that has been around for years now.
Let me know if you need more info. It is a great opportunity for lots of people.

I really appreciate the information! I just completed my background check for Arise. I do have a question, that may be answered by them when I get to that next step, but do you have to become incorporated, or can you be a sole proprietor or LLC? Of course you have to have an EIN before you can ge the state license. I just wondered if you knew. Also, do you pay quarterly/monthly taxes? I was an LLC in another state and they sent me montly coupons to submit/record montly taxes. Again, thank you for all of the information. You've been more than helpful!

I have been working for West for almost 2 months now & I LOVE it! You do get paid, when you're working EVEN if you get NO calls, but you just get minimum wage. For me, I homeschool & have a 2 year old, so it's ideal for me w/their schedules. I always average about $11/hour. I'm in GA, so minimum wage is only 5.85 here - that sucks, but hey I'll take getting paid to read a book or do laundry, when the phones aren't busy.

my husband works at the actual west telemarketing building and he applied for west at home.......he got the job but they told him he needs to quit first before they could move on so im kind of iffy about it......i dont think he will get paid as much as he does at west corp....but we would save so much gas money. also another thing that scares me is that at west they will fire you for whatever reason very easily....i imagine it is much more common to be fired if you are a home agent because they dont even know you or what you look like so thats another thought. any insight?

I have just started with West. I am currently training with Sears Repair. I haven't experienced any problems so far. Anyone currently working for Sears repair?

I'm definitely interested in working at Arise also. My concern is I will be a stay at home, possibly sending my two youngest to Mothers Day Out twice a week. My question is do they have 3rd shift hours? Also, how much work is available that does not involve the phone? My youngest is 5 months and still wakes up at night, I hear the stories about background noise while on the phone with customers or clients

I applied with West Dec 10th.... I received an email with a link with tax forms and paperwork to feel out on Dec 29th. I guess this means I am hired?

I mailed out my tax forms and noteray form information early last week.

When I check my application status its just a checklist of my paperwork that I have completed but it doesn't say how long it would take for them to contact me back and I am not even sure if they received my information.

Does anyone out there know how long it takes for them to contact you for training after you have sent out your paperwork??

I have seen a few people ask this question in the forum but no replies.

Suz,
Okay, so today I was able get all the way to the course. I've paid for the course, now I'm SOOO confused. Do I take all the courses or do I choose. A lot of them have company names. Also, do you know about how much more money it will cost once you apply to one of the companies? I think I read that part right. I'm off to go buy my VoIP headset as I don't have one yet. I'm just so confused as to what course I'm supposed to take!!! Can you help? (I know you are probably soooo over me! ) I'll have to call one of these guys at Pro-Flowers to send you something for all your help. LOL

Susan, I am happy for you that you are on your way to doing the work through Arise, but first of all I am trying to decipher exactly where you are in the process. Did you get accepted and are ready to now start the basic training course - ACP101? Or did you already complete that and now are ready and waiting to sign up for a client training? If I better understand exactly what you are ready for and doing now, I will be able to advise you better. If you are accepted by Arise and ready for ACP101 that is their basic training course that they require their agents to complete before being able to start training for work for one of thier clients. The ACP101 is a self study course online that you have 10 days to complete once you start, but many people complete it in 2-3 days. Once that is completed, you are then ready to sign up for a client training with one of Arise's client companies, and you would just choose one of the available trainings and go through that and then you can start working.
Maybe I am telling you all about things you already know and understand - I am just not sure where you are in the process. If you want to email me at [email protected] it might be easier for us to communicate, than just on this board. And I'm sure you will have many more questions as you go, and I am happy to help.
Sue

Aqua,

I finally got my welcome email last week so overall this took about 2 weeks after I faxed my ID forms. I just finished training and will do my webinar today. Your application status should say you are hired once they send you the email for the notarized forms and employee forms to fill out.

Contact HR and leave a message, they called me back to make sure I received my email. Their number was in the email that asked you to send the forms.

I also sent a direct email from obtain the address from the person who sent me the email asking for the forms to filled out. She responded very quickly.
