I'm not sure if I did this correctly -- I followed the 30dc and put this lens up a couple of weeks ago. 30dc says that Squidoo likes pictures and fun reading alongside being informative. If anyone can throw me a bone about the feel of my lens, I'd appreciate it.

Also, would adding to the lens (updating) help get indexed? Or should I concentrate on adding more lenses?

Here is my lens: http://www.squidoo.com/eczemanaturalcures11

Thanks for your time and help if anyone wishes to check it out.

Hello - just went and looked at your lens and here are a few things I would do personally.

I don't like the big paragraphs as I am a 'skim reader' ... so I would cut them into more parts to make it easier for folks to read.

I would also add some bold print here and there... kinda like I did here for you so you can see what it does...

Stats show that most readers will spend only a few seconds on your page so you want to grab them with something close to the top within those forst couple seconds and if they are like me, they won't read through it to get whatever it is you want them to get.

Make sense?

More pictures would be nice.... by the way I noticed your gardening picture and it is a grabber!

Why are you not writing and building lenses on gardening? It is much easier to write and make money with stuff you are passionate about....

Not trying to be nitpicky - just trying to help.

MM5, But you must be nitpicky! -- I NEED constructive criticism!!

I am very passionate about helping people cure their diseases! Plus, I have eczema and know how to cure it ... I want to share my holistic health background with all and help them.

here and there

I seriously don't know how to do bold -- I can't find any font formatting? I also see that people have these cool pics but don't know how to find them either.

Thanks for your feedback!

Do both! Updating your lens as well as creating related lenses will definitely benefit your exposure.

Your lens was quite informative!

MountainMom made some useful suggestions. I thought the module "The Right Tools" could use some bold text on the first sentence of each of the listed paragraphs. It would help to draw the reader's attention, particularly the skimmer.

To bold a string of text, simply type <b> before the first word you want to make bold, and </b> after the last word. So, whatever is contained between those tags will be displayed in bold type.

Example:

Type this... <b>~ Eat to live, not live to eat!</b>
to get this... ~ Eat to live, not live to eat!

Here's our own Newbie Shield's Squidoo tutorial that explains how to achieve different HTML effects:

In your opening module, you could also consider using a larger photo of a person's face with eczema. This is a great way to highlight the condition and reinforce the theme of your lens. You can get royalty free stock images and photos from sites like:

- iStockPhoto
- JupiterImages
- Stock.Xchng

I LOVE Newbie Shields how-to lens. I have used it LOTS and still do when I build lenses.

Awesome! Then you are on the right track. Yes, I would build a couple more lenses and link them all together.

Have fun.
