I just sign-ed up with a Kanoodle acount and am linking to a Squidoo page though a Kanoodle ad with about 20 keywords. I got 4 click-throughs last night at 5 cents each. Kanoodle is cheaper than adwords but has more phoney click-thoughs.
I just thought I would ask. This is just an experimental thing for me. I just hope I don't get banned from Squidoo.

I don't think Squidoo would ban you for linking to your lens through PPC but it might be an idea to read through their terms of service just to be sure:

Hey, good idea. Free hosting combined with low cost traffic generation sounds like a potential winner.
I haven't done so myself but I don't see any reason why you would get banned for doing so.
A word to the wise: Just make sure that you have stuff on your lens that will convert well and be profitable above and beyond what ever you spend on PPC. I'm sure you know that :)

I think it's a bad idea to use ppc with a squidoo lens because there's simply too much distractions on a lens. 80% of the links leads away from your lens.
What you need is a landing page for ppc, a page that is straight forward, telling your viewers exactly what needs to be done (and that's click through to the merchant and then buy).
As for Kanoodle, like you said, there's a lot of phony clicks going on there, from a lot of the reading I've done, it's generally recommended to stick with google, yahoo and msn for search engines.

Hi Jim,
I hear you on the abundance of click-out opportunities on Squidoo. However, the main focus for anyone arriving - especially targeted traffic such as PPC - would be the body content contained within the lens modules.
Additionally, if a person could find inexpensive PPC phrases, it could easily be profitable.
Good point though and welcome to the forum :)

Oh, PPC is daunting because of the need for conversion of clicks to buyers but are PPC companies really able to get away with phony clicks? How could you validate true or phony clicks?

I guess I need to give a belated report on my results with Kanoodle/Squidoo:
I got a bit of cheap traffic to my lens but made zero sales. This technique did raise my lens rank - temporarily.
I cannot recommend Kanoodle at all however. I have found that there are too many 'robot clicks' from this PPC service.
If you need to boost your lens rank, say to get into the top 100 lenses if you are just under that mark, pointing to a squidoo lens with low cost PPC services may be something you might consider.
Just don't use Kanoodle.

Kanoodle has a bad rep. I wouldn't use them. Generally, I stick to the big three - Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo because I trust them and they tend to convert better.
Too bad the three are getting so expensive. You have to hunt a bit for an affordable phrase that isn't too competitive these days. The more you wander off the tried and true path, the bigger the risk of robot clicks. Sometimes inexpensive is more expensive.
It's best to spend the majority of your PPC funds on the big three and try a new ad network once in a while with a small amount of money and/or a freebie credit.
How goes the webmastering?

I have been considering using ppc for squidoo, but i've got
two other ppc campaigns. So i will just have to step up my seo
skills for squidoo, but i got too much homework do, and no time.
