Back in November I was looking for a laptop and gave Windows 8 a test drive in the store for the first time. To say I was confused was an understatement - where is the bleeping Start Menu? Thankfully, before I purchased my laptop, my friend from work told me about a program called Start 8 from Stardock. I'd say it was the best $5 purchase I'd ever made, because it created a start menu for my Windows 8 computer and I could now navigate my way around my system!

Today, I just noticed that Google has a similar program for free called Google Power 8. I haven't used it since I really don't need it, but I would encourage you to download it and give it a test drive if Windows 8 is driving you bonkers. Alternatively, consider purchasing Start 8 from Stardock.com for $5, as it really is an excellent program that will make your Windows 8 experience a whole lot better!

  3. Thanks for the advice. :) I personally don't use windows 8 but I have heard mostly negative things about it and that it's very confusing.
