Thank you

As far as free methods, I use article marketing and press releases. They work great when you know how to use them, plus it's targeted traffic, which is what you want. Right now I'm holding the top spot in google from an article that went live 2 days ago.

ezinesarticles.com
free-press-release.com

Above are 2 of the sites that I use regularly.

For free ads specifically, usfreeads.com is good.

I am not sure if you are only interested in using ads to promote your business, but places like myspace and youtube are becoming very popular and have been successful for me. I do not post ads but I do social networking which has been more effective in my experience.

Craigslist ghosting technique is starting to push many advertisers away...i've noticed at least. IF you know how to get around that it's great, but i know many don't.

I'm partial to backpage.com....
but as csg said your best bet is to start writting articles and such.

There are alot of free options out there.

1. Safelists are one option that you can look into.
2. Traffic Exchanges are another non targeted form of free advertising. I recommend using splash pages with both these forms of advertising.
3. Free ad forums - believe it or not i have made sales out of this form of advertising. Tracking your ads helps you to know what ads are working.

US Free Ads has an upgrade for $9.99 per month and you can submit unlimited ads, with images.
You can basically build a mini site with an opt-in.
The downside is , at least for McAfee users the listings have a yellow check mark for the Site Advisor..which indicates caution.
I prefer Hub Pages, they have a great look, a tutorial and are free.

I agree with NTC, USFREE ad $9 dollar upgrade is worth it in the short term anyway. You get a great easy to use HTML editor that helps you learn html - very versatile tooI've made 100's of dollars from USFREE ads - not getting rich but it works. Hub Pages are good it but it's harder to stay within their user guidelines - Hubs can't be too spammy.

Me too Jason, I'm contemplating paid advertising but the forums are working very well so far...

I had a very poor response with U.S. Free Ads despite having a paid account. I used an ad that has performed well on Google Adwords and in ezines.

Participating in forums like this one can generate leads if your intention is good. In other words if you genuinely seek to help others and seek assistance for yourself, you will gain respect and people will click on a link in your sig file (signature).

Make sure what you put in your signature is compelling, e.g., this would not work very well:

You can make boatloads of money with this business.

Whereas this would get more clicks:

Top 3 Tips For Generating FREE LEADS With A Squidoo Lens ...

Check out Jon Olsen's Hit Exchange News for great tips on using traffic exchanges.

Search Google for "safelist guide" as there are couple of good ones out there.

Craigslist prohibits business opportunity ads so you have to cheat the system to get them on the site. It seems like a lot of work to me but some people say with the right software and training it can be effective.

Building a Squidoo Lens is free and can generate traffic--but search on Squidoo for "squidoo guides" or similar to learn how to do it right.

Your own website, blog, and newsletter (ezine) will, in the long run, generate the most cost-effective traffic of all. I recommend SiteBuildIt for doing all three.

All the Best,

Mark

Hi pleasegogreen,

If you want free then try this out. Go to blogger.com and create a free blog. It is really easy to set up. Don't worry if you dont know about blogs. What you will be doing really is setting up a 1-page website and hosting it with blogger.com...for FREE.

Now write a short 4 paragraph review of the product or service you are promoting. Place your affiliate link a couple times in the review and at the end. Make sure to go into the "Edit Page Elements" area and click on the "remove page elements" link to remove everything down the right side of the page. Now you have a nice 1 page website.

Now because blogger is owned by google, your new page will get some exposure but you want to get more. 1st go to pingomatic.com and other ones to "ping" your blog. So now write a short article for ezines and go articles. Place a link in the sig box of these sending them back to your blogger site. Also set up a squidoo lens and put a link there to your blogger site as well.

Next do some free press releases and usfree ads with links to your blogger site. Dont forget to put a link in your forum sig boxes as well.

The whole idea here is instead of having several articles all on their own. Utilize them as back links to your main page (in this case your blogger page). You will create more traffic for yourself as google loves blogger and backlinks. And your page should rank better, and faster.

Good luck,

Michael

p.s. if you can afford 8 or 9 dollars I would Highly recommend buying a domain name from namecheap or goDaddy and using that on your blogger site. Just have it redirected to the affiliate site. I like this because a real domain name looks alot better then an aff. link.

I prefer namecheap to godaddy because they give you free "Whois" service for each name you buy.

sorry for the long post

I believe the BEST form of marketing is through videos! There are alot of social networks that allow videos to be placed and I believe once someone sees you there would be more apt to come aboard and work with you. Just be honest and really understand, people are tired of the "I made $5000 overnight" type talk.

If you would like to take a few looks at a couple videos i have done, My youtube ID is: joininthemoney.

Videos work great! It could be the home business I do too - I am not sure which is which but they have definately brought me an income and not just some money...Blessings

Hi, Anyone know of the best (or really good) place to submit your ad that will be sent to several ezines?? Instead of trying to place in individual ezines. I know of a few, but want to see which ones may work best with the largest customer bases. thanks

I'm intrigued about the use of My Space, You Tube. I admit, i'm a little older than the average user of either of those two, but i am willing to learn how. If it will generate quality traffic to my home business sites, then it is worth a look.

I think the quote about using forums correctly is very good. I teach my downline to join a forum or two, or however many they feel comfortable with, and just become a part of the community. No Spam, no little short one liners just to get the sig files out there, but contribute. If you add value to a community, they will get to know you and like you, and they will want to know more about you, and will click on your links.

Just having links in sig files is excellent for producing back links. Since joining half a dozen forums my alexa rank has gone from one million plus, to under 400,000. That's pretty impressive. Another thing, you don't have to go to all home business or work at home or whatever forums. Go to forums that interest you, where you will have something to say that is relevant and adds value to the forum. It can be music, arts, fishing, whatever forum, as long as you establish a relationship with the other members and have value to add.

Have you ever watch how MAC sell?

They don't sell anything. Who Sold the IPHONE ? in the ads they only showed what it could do and how to use it.

Mac sell emotion needs and wants, so that The lottery, so does oprah. they dont post adss saying look at me.

Posting links is old school gorrillla marketing. Watch the big GUNS .. For me Myspace Youtube Facebook although i dont post any links but still see massive results

There are a mix of places that you want to pursue. Free quality classifies sites, like the ones mentioned so far. Be sure to use a domain name and key search terms in your subject heading. The goal with quality free classified sites is getting listed in key search engines for free. Forums relative to your product or service are key. Much good target leads come from the right forum. Of some sort of social networking. However, the key is to be consistent daily, every other day or what have you to get results. Make adjustments as you go as things change and improve. Your result will often vary on the subject heading you are using and body of your ad. Here's a secret...lol...if there are any. Make it all gel. Meaning make the body of the ad, short but consistent with what the person will see when they go to your website. Then make sure the website info is consistent with what information the person gets when they opt into your website for more info(assuming that is the goal). When all the information the person is getting gels it keeps them focused and and is less likely to cause you to lose the person that has an interest because of inconsistent info from inception to opt in, etc.

Know that the right type of paid marketing will payoff very well also, but that's another story for another time. If you can make money online with Free Advertising, consistently then go for it. However, free advertising methods tend to be more tedious, in some respects. For example with free classifieds you need to post over and over daily for the most effective results. So once you do cash flow in your biz, you may want to get into some paid advertising as well.

Anyway, maybe I got a little off topic there. Best of success to you and may you make massive money from free advertising mediums. I know of many others that are doing.
