Has anyone else noticed this?

When you apply the Italic font style to text in the BB Code Editor, it will render correctly in the preview window, but when you click the Reply to Thread button to make the post, the text is displayed as normal unstyled text.

However it seems to work correctly when you are creating a new post. Interesting!

So what did you do to make Italic show up in Italics?

edit: hmm, so did mine and the quote is all italics.
edit2: oh weird, mine was until i edited the post, now it's not!

I just edited the post, Jimmy... and wiped away the egg on my face. :) It works correctly for a new post.

Still, a quirk is a quirk so enjoy the egg.
May have to do with the quote using italics, then stops the
It makes no sense why it changes when edited.

Oh, now that is crazy, I put in a [] with an i in it and it italicized the line instead of showing what I typed.
It should have said "then stops the [ ]" with an i between the brackets.

Seems the "Italic" feature doesn't work with post replies and edits, but only with new posts.

Okay! Here's what (I think) I've learned from all this so far:

For italic text to display in a new thread or a post reply, you must use the
"Create Thread" button (new thread) or the "Post Reply" button (post reply).

However, if you click the "More Options" button from the Reply window to preview
your post reply, or the "Preview..." button from the Create Thread window to preview
your new thread, you will lose the italic formatting.

I think that sorts it out! :)

I think what have is a rouge closing tag since HTML 5 does not require one.

Now doing italics again by clicking the more options button.

Edit: Doesn't show italics in the preview window. It is till intact in the reply box.

Edit: OK, gone after click the "reply to thread" button.

    Will report the bug.

    Thanks Hermas!
