Thought everyone might like to watch this video from Matt Cutts over at the Big G. Hmmm.....always joyous getting ready for the next algo change. Just another reason to be white hat virtually all of the way!!!!!

If users like it, Google will like it...simple enough right???

Anyway, I think Google+ and social media is playing a bigger role than ever before.

    Enjoy

Thanks for sharing this information, Katherine. It's never a bad idea for webmasters and seo specialists to get the scoop on what the Big G has up its digital sleeve.

Matt said "if you use Black Hat methods it might be an eventful summer".
Who in their right mind would wear a black hat in summer!?

He also said QUALITY CONTENT is what searchers look for.
That sounds like the advice from the majority on this forum.
Provide UNIQUE quality content to attract targeted visitors.
Content is king and the key to ka-ching (cash register sound).

Pandas and Penguins like unique quality content.:)

SEO keeps getting more and more challenging. But white hat is always the way to go. Thanks for the heads up Catherine.

Although I thought I followed the rules after months of research I can't help but notice the difference in some of my sites :( Anyone else been effected? And what do you do to solve the matter?

This update has been very harsh on a lot of sites. If you've used any sort of software or other black hat methods on any of your sites, not only will those links be discounted, but it's likely your site will be penalised. White hat is definitely the only option from here on in. Google is deadly serious about getting rid of spammers as much as possible and isn't afraid to play hardball which is what we're seeing.

Overthinking SEO is pointless. Just write/post about what you're the most passionate about or interested in and organic SEO will follow - then you can stop worrying about Google.
