With a heavy heart I have finally decided to put forth this forum for sale. Fortunately or unfortunately, I have found my passion elsewhere due to which I'm not able to give the energy the forum deserves. This forum has served me well and its been like a family to me. Hence I don't want to see it languishing due to lack of focus. I do hope it'll be taken over by someone really worthy of it and get the attention it deserves.

If anybody is interested, please send me a Private Message through this forum.

    Vishal,

We are all familiar with expressions like:
    • nothing lasts forever
    • change is the only constant
    • all good things come to and end
But when we actually come face to face with that reality, it's not always an easy thing to accept, and that's how I feel about your announcement.

This forum has been an informative, entertaining and beneficial space for me from its inception. I've met many interesting and dedicated marketers here, and I've thoroughly enjoyed contributing to the vast storehouse of wisdom and information.

Quite honestly, what makes WAHF what is it, is you! Your firm yet compassionate leadership as founder and administrator has guided this forum through some rough waters.

I've watched you make difficult decisions in the past, like shutting down forums that threatened to upset the pleasant atmosphere that existed, and defusing the occasional squabble between core members over some new policy you wanted to institute.

In every instance your approach was never heavy-handed, but always thoughtful and fair. You invited opinions from everyone, weighed the alternatives carefully then made your decision... which was always final. :)

Vishal, I've learned a lot from watching you in action and have enjoyed soaking up your wisdom when you imparted it. I have no doubt that WAHF will continue to be a useful online resource for online marketers after it is sold, but it will definitely NEVER be the same without you at the helm.

I would be sad if I didn't know what you are enjoying doing instead.
One constant theme of this forum is to "find your passion".
Happy to see you having fun while teaching others.
May you continue to soar with the eagles.

p.s. Please come back and share your wisdom once in a while.

Thank you Hermas, Jimmy and payment proof :) I'm just a facilitator. Without your support, taking the forum to this level would have been impossible.

You're welcome Vishal. :) You have given us a great place to come and post and to communicate with other members. It's a very friendly and informative community and you have done a great job in building it.

I don't know if Just2EZ is in the market to buy a forum, but he has been an amazing moderator! Needed to give Just2EZ a huge pat on the back for this and some recognition. :)

Thanks for the pat on the back payment proof.
It would be a good fit if my personal cash flow was more positive.
Unfortunately, I don't see me coming up with the cash to cover it.
Mostly because I'm just2lazy to focus on the money end of life.
Vishal has invested too much time and money to give it away.
(I'd take it in a heartbeat if he did!)

Hopefully someone with passion and wisdom will pay top dollar.
This is a special forum with a lot of caring/sharing members.
Hard to put a price tag on all the wisdom contained here.
    It's worth a fortune.

Vishal raised this forum from a baby,
he'll make sure it's in good hands.

Well whoever ends up with this forum should keep you as a moderator Just2EZ. You do an amazing job and seem like you're one of the members here too. I mean that as a compliment.

    :)

    Vishal,

So sorry to hear that you are selling this forum. Nothing lasts forever and if you feel like you want to move on, then go right ahead.

Warrior forum was bought by Freelancer.com a few months ago for $2.3 Million (Maybe more) so maybe you should contact them and see if they are interested in buying yours.

Dyslexia Tal? It was $3.2 Million!
    Warrior has 732,000 members.

    WAHF's WOW score is ~$40K
I'd price it closer to $100K
    Lots of potential here.

(edit: I have no clue what Vishal is asking or how much it is earning.)
My numbers are using base values for traffic stats of 1.2Million pages/mo.
New owners could easily increase the revenues (and traffic) with little effort.

I wasn't sure if it was $2.3 Million or $3.2 Million.

    Some stats of the forum:

    Year established: 2004
    Number of members: 20,000+
    Monthly uniques: 15,000+
    Monthly pageviews: 30,000+

Regarding revenue generated from the forum, I have not been monetizing this forum properly at all. All I have done is put some AdSense ads. One can easily make over $1000 by selling ads to third parties.

Vishal, do you have any stats from before switching to XenForo a year ago?
I recall the traffic took a big hit during that time frame thanks to Google.
You could see it on the Alexa graph back when it was in the top 100k.
Now it is down to the top 149k worldwide and 80k in the U.S.
Slowly but surely it is recovering in the search indexing.
New posts on old threads would help re-index them.
Many old topics here are still very relevant.
Alexa shows search referrals at 18%, down 27% from previously.

As for revenues, using display ad rates, not pay per click,
should bring a minimum of $1-3.00 per 1,000 page views.
If you are not making that much, may be a simple switch.
Pay per click is iffy at best, even for the advertiser.

Bingo! I just bumped and old post about the importance of "Sitemap.xml"
    http://www.work-at-home-forum.com/threads/site-map.5461/#post-113870
Guess what? The link in the post to this forum's sitemap returns:
Work at Home Forum - Error
The requested page could not be found.

XenForo added a sitemap generator after version 1.4 (last June?).
Turn that on and your ranking should return to the top quickly.
It will submit it to Google and Bing to wake them up.

Thanks for letting me know that Jimmy. It's updated now. Up at:
    http://www.work-at-home-forum.com/sitemap.php

Before the Google update, this forum was getting around 5000 uniques every day with around 15000 pageviews. Alexa ranking was under 20,000.

You will be missed if you sell it, Vishal! You have been an amazing moderator. So gracious and willing to go the second mile. I wish you the best in whatever your next endeavor is and I pray you get top dollar for the forum, plus that it's as great an owner as you are. :)
