The name Coca-Cola in China was first rendered as Ke-kou-ke-la. Unfortunately, the Coke company did not discover until after thousands of signs had been printed that the phrase means "bite the wax tadpole" or "female horse stuffed with wax" depending on the dialect. Coke then researched 40,000 Chinese characters and found a close phonetic equivalent, "ko-kou-ko-le," which can be loosely translated as "happiness in the mouth."

This just shows that if your marketing is creative, your business will be successfull.

When I used to work for a company, they had a big financial incentive to recruit people that you recommended.

So, I advertised the job vacancies on the web and got #1 ranking on Google for all the jobs on offer and got several CV's (resume's per day) flooding into my inbox. After a few days of embarrasing the company recruitment officer I was served a formal warning for company copyright infringement by re-using the text from the job descriptions.

It took me a while to remove the ads too since they were cached on servers. Looking back, it is kind of ridiculous that they treated me this way and could of saved alot of money by avoiding the use of recruitment agencies. But then, certain people might not get the back-handers
  maybe?
