I tried paid surveys back almost 5 years ago, found it's just a tough way to just get you some spare money which only allows you have a meal in a local restaurant.

I remember after i registered with those sites, they sometimes sent you invitations, but you seldom qualified, sometime only for female, sometimes only for single mom, finally I found a chance by reporting my daily food intaking by punching some data into a machine they sent me, which finally sent me a check of 50 bucks, happened to be the amount i paid for the initial site which declare paid survey will make me rich that kind of bullshit. Then i cut it out immediately, it just doesn't worth the time!!! I better earn that money by working overtime and getting the double pay.

Just a reference, remember you can't be all kind of roles in this world at the same time to qualify tons of survey invitation, that's the deadly shortcoming of this kind of program

I tried taking surveys as well last year. Ended up filling my in-box with junk mail. Do you get paid? yes, but for me it was at the rate of about .50/per hour work, if that. Now there may be some better way to do it, perhaps if someone does it 12 hours a day and nothing else the profits may be good - don't know.

I have found that internet marketing is, if much more difficult, also much more profitable. There are many home businesses out there that provide a real service or product. Providing a real service or product is what it takes to be successful.

I agree, unless you can play all kind of roles at the same time including

smokers, non-smokers, single mom, single dad, father, mother, older than 40, younger than 30, pregnant, had a cancer before, having a dog now but tomorrow pretending you have a cat too, Asian (I am), Black, White.... Can who?

It reminds me an old movie "Mask", if you have that kind of magic tool, go rich with paid survey!

Well, in that case, robbing a bank maybe easier after you wearing the Mask.

You should have a separate email id for receiving junk offers when you sign up for surveys

Just keep in mind that you should try avoiding any site claiming to be a paid survey company but ask you to complete offers in order to earn cash... even if their home page has anything about receiving offers, stay away! unless you like a bunch of junk mail

Many people take paid surveys and make a nice side income from it. It takes a lot of time to get set up, you will need to do a lot of research into companies to find out which ones are good and which are not. You will need to know the ins and out. For example you should complete your entire profile so that you get more survey invitations.

Also like PCwork said you should set up a separate email address for all of your surveys.

I have found some very good survey/offer companies that are legitimate and pay by check every month like clockwork but I do agree that it does not pay enough to be considered a "real" job. The extra money is great though. (I actually make more money from referrals than I do from completing offers.) Always be sure to create a separate e-mail address before you complete any offers from companies so your inbox does not get overloaded with spam. Also, remember you should never have to pay a company to sign-up, -if you do it is probably not a legitimate company.

A couple of years ago I signed up with Survey Scout - supposedly one of the best. I thought I was choosy about what to sign up for from their list but not choose enough apparently.

I received a lot of offers I wasn't interested in and tried to opt out of them, but even though I seemed to get in instantly, they claimed it would take weeks to get me out.

Horse pucky.

THEN I started to get the most vile porn sent to the address I had used for all of the Survey Scout offers. Unfortunately I did not use a separate address for each SC offer. Live and learn, because if I had I could have nailed which one sold my contact info.

I complained to the Survey Scout guys who denied everything and refused to take any responsibility for what their list of companies had done.

I had to close out that e-mail address and remove all Survey Scout links from my web sites.

Yes there are reputable companies out there such as Survey Savvy, but you will never get rich!

I find I qualify for very few surveys. One company (Greenfield) always verifies who you are before connecting you to the survey site. One time they asked if I was who I am, and when I said yes, they said, "Sorry you don't qualify!" Excuse me??? I opted out of them, too.

This is true in regard to survey sites or sites which claim to pay you. But this is not necessarily true when it comes to Paid Surveys Directory.

Greenfield Online is a great survey panel and many people are signed up to them. They also just started paying their members via PayPal for those that opted for it.

I am sorry to hear you problems with them. I would like to bring out one more point that they are sending out lately more surveys where they don't give cash incentives, than surveys where they do give cash incentives.

Don't forget wheter you qualify for a survey or not depends on your demographics.

One of the best things you can do to avoid this problem is to make sure that you fill out all of your personal information. This will prevent the companies from sending you a lot of surveys that you won't qualify for.

Just like CashSurveys said, a lot really depends on your demographics. You can't do a lot about those. Just hope that you qualify for more in the future.

I have seen many times where survey companies send out survey invitations to those that their profile don't fit the demographics of the study being conducted.

And yes it depends a lot on a persons demographics.

Yes, I have also tried paid surveys a few years ago. In my experience, it was possible to make decent money, but it took too many hours each day and eventually, I got bored. I was making a nice part-time income from it, but it wasn't enough for me to survive on if I quit my day job. If anyone else is thinking about joining a paid survey program, my advice would be to pick and choose only the highest paying surveys from your inbox and just delete all the other ones. It will take you some time to learn which surveys pay more than others, but once you get the hang of it, you will eventually start to recognize the good ones. But just beware, there are a lot of surveys that don't pay enough to justify the time it takes to complete them. Often, you will only make a few cents profit from each one, and that's why it can be a waste of time.

you can not base the amount you will get paid for a survey, based on which survey panel send you the survey. Although there are averages to how much each survey panel generally pays. If you don't have enough time to take all the survey then you should check each survey to see how much they pay. Generally in the survey invitation it will say how much you will get paid.

This is extremely rare that a survey company will pay you a few cent for a survey, if that is the case then you should stay away from those.

Most of the time, the surveys have a minimum dollar pay-out for taking a survey. Many have even more. Some companies have a point system that converts to a dollar figure. Make sure you know how the conversion works, and so you know how much you are getting for a survey.

You know what my problem with the paid surveys is? Usually I don't qualify for the paid surveys, and the ones that I do qualify for are 30-45 min long and all I get are sweepstakes entries. I'll never win one of those sweepstakes. I 'm not a really lucky person when it comes to sweepstakes and winning stuff.

Make sure that you have filled out all of your demographics. That really helps when it comes to qualifying for surveys. Also, make sure that the site you are working with gives out compensation that you are happy with. Some people like sweepstakes, others like cash. Personally, I only really enjoy working with the exclusively cash sites. Maybe I am just greedy. I don't know how many sites you are signed up with, but make sure that you have a lot. If you want some tips on survey taking, you can grab the newsletter off our site.

Before you start the survey read how long it takes and what the reward is, if it is too long or if you get entered into a sweepstakes then just don't take it. Don't waste your time.

Good Luck

Just remember that it is your time, and that you use it in a way that you feel is worth it.
